Lakeland Manor — Attraction in Saint Clair Shores

Had a Funeral luncheon there.. The wait staff was great.. The Bartender was never behind the bar and when she decided to be she was really rude... The food was good except for the green beans had a funny taste to them.... The owner was nice until he got paid and charged us for 55 more people then we had... Said he gave us the extra food but only gave us enough food for about 20 people.. I tipped out the wait staff then when my daughter wanted to be nice and tip out the Very Rude Bartender $50 which she didn't even deserve, the girl never even said thank you... Her response was don't forget to tip out the cooks and dishwasher 😳 I don't recommend this place to anyone.... My response to your response is that I am being 100 Truthful.... You asked approximately how many people ... I used to work for a Hall for 15 years.... Most Halls always give at least 25 people give or take.... You Never know exactly how many are going to come to something like that..... #2 The reason why not many drinks were sold was because people complained that the bartender was never behind the bar....... #3 A lot of people weren't a fan of the green beans....... #4. We did tip the wait staff they were amazing..... We weren't even going to tip the bartender that was never behind the bar and not very pleasant but we did anyway... My daughter went up to her and gave her the tip and the bartender never even said Thank You... Her response was. " Don't Forget to tip the kitchen '"....😳 I did give the cook a tip already ...... When people are Grieving they shouldn't be treated disrespectfully .. Actually no one should be treated disrespectfully... #5 Their were only 70 people that came and had a plate of food... Their is no way we were given the remaining food that we payed for. Like I said I've been in the Industry for over almost 40 years and 15 of them at a banquet hall.... I had my wedding here and the night had a series of very unfortunate events. If you want a flawless night of execution, I would not chose this venue. Items that were paid for and were supposed to be included were not executed. Champagne toast for the head table was not prepared, and when asked for prior to toasts was told it was not included. The "open bar" not only ran out of beer but also rum. We alerted the hall that we were not bringing cake cutting supplies. We cut our cake with a butter knife off of one of our guests tables. We had no plates, or no forks. We missed out on once in a lifetime photos of us sharing our cake. The entire cake was left uncut and not plated the entire evening. We were told cake cutting was included. We were also ensured that dessert platters including lemon, bars, brownies, canolies etc. would be at each table, but they were never brought out. I contacted the manager over a week and a half ago expressing my many concerns. She said she would get back to me in 1 to 2 days time, she wanted to speak with the staff and review the footage of the night. The manager ensured me that she takes pride in her job and would not let this issue fall through the cracks. I have never heard back. This is only a small amount of the many problems faced that evening. This was supposed to be the best night of our lives. I would never recommend any bride or groom to utilize this facility. I wish we would have done our homework and chose a professional...

The Hall was very clean. Super cute and decorated nicely. Their food was phenomenal, it was very tasteful, flavorful & the temperature was perfect! Considering currently in this day and how business are very short handed, staff is working more then usual, and very over worked, they never lacked in their service, or promise as stated. The staff was top notch always checking with everyone to make sure everything was good and if anyone needed anything. The minute anything was empty they were gathering it from the table. Then the bar tender, Eddie .. he was AWESOME! Hustling making our drinks and keeping up with all of us! They even went past the cut off time by 15 minutes which they didn’t have to do. Also the owner himself Jimmy came out on 4 occasions to check to make sure everything was to our standards. That you don’t get everyday… you get managers. This Hall & all the workers did a Phenomenal job while our party was there! We look forward to booking many more party's at Lakeland Manor and look forward to our March Ball there as well!
