Usually I don't leave reviews, but I have to in this case...
Got take out, didn't interact with staff so don't know about that.
So first thing is in the area of the menu for burgers and sandwiches the text does not make it clear that you are paying for or what exactly you are paying. So that's the first bit that ties into the rest. The answer is that you are paying the price listed under the sandwich for nothing else but that particular sandwich. I assume you are paying $4 more for coleslaw and fries or $5 more for about 6 onion rings.
I've eaten there twice. Got the same thing both times. Didn't see the price the first time. The first time the mix of ingredients was such that while the burger patty was good, something was overpowering it which made it not as good. This second time whatever that issue was was dealt with so the Cheeseburger was good.
The reason I'm giving a 1 star is because the price is ridiculous to such an extent and it is somewhat hidden by the menu, because no one would ever guess a hamburger of the normal size with nothing else to go with it is $10 and certainly not one smaller than a whopper, without salad, without fries. It's good. It's about a standard 1/4 pounder, but it is far too expensive for what it is.
It's fine to take pride in good work and charge a little extra, (which a bad business practice btw if you don't have to) but it's a whole other story when you're charging double price.
so tldr: Food is double the price of what is normal. Take out menu is unclear which hides this fact. Good and seemingly improving...
Read moreI don't know what has happened to this place in the past couple of years… Lots of pre-packaged and frozen items now...The last time I paid $12 for half a sandwich and a bowl of soup and the sandwich was very skimpy on meat! This time I ordered the chicken cutlets thinking I'm going to get a nice breaded chicken cutlet with real mashed potatoes and when they deliver it to me it's frozen ground processed chicken patties and instant mashed potatoes! The coleslaw was so bland you couldn't even taste it! The only thing I will go to this restaurant for now is there tempura battered fried vegetables, best I have ever had! Zucchini, cauliflower, mushrooms are fresh and prepared to order! Seriously mind blowing! And they usually have five or six different scratch made soups which are fantastic! A few years ago I gave them a five star rating! But I'm sad to say things have gone downhill… I will try again, but eating out is so expensive right now it truly is a treat when we can afford it! We had The frozen chicken cutlet dinner (which came with fake mashed potatoes and coleslaw) And my friend had Perch (which came with baked potato and coleslaw). We also ordered the fried vegetable appetizer and skipped beverages and dessert and our total was $50 with tax and tip! That is a lot of money for food that you were not...
Read moreI LOVED New York Deli, they had the best Greek salad. I would order from here all the time, and actually recommended it to many. Recently, I ordered a Greek salad & Julienne salad. Over half of it was filled with spring mix, that tasted like dirt and was old. Their salads are not cheap, so when I’m wasting over half of my salad by picking out the spring lettuce, I was irritated. I called the restaurant and kindly asked when they started adding spring mix in their salads because this was news to me. I expressed how the salad did not taste good and the only recommendation the server had, was to order with just iceberg lettuce next time. Didn’t offer a credit or refund. A week later, I was craving their salad, placed my order online (they, now, incentivize you to just order online instead of calling them so I couldn’t confirm the lettuce situation) I added in the instructions for iceberg only, no spring mix. Shortly after my order was placed & paid for, I received a call stating that they cannot complete the request for iceberg only. Of course I requested a refund, but I am so beyond disappointed with the miscommunication, not taking care of a frequent customer, and dirt tasting spring mix. Will never return to this New...
