I LOVE THE ARTS. I LOVE THEATER. Super inviting staff theater. Clean. Be prepared to get there early or walk when it comes to parking.
CONS: Other than a small area, tall individuals, and I assume morbidly obese individuals will not be comfortable outside of the handicap section. I stopped to say hi to one of my "curvy" friends, and she was wedged in her seat with a lil meat touching the cushion of the seats on both sides of her. That's fine for folks, you know, not strangers. My husband is 6'5", 290, and we knew to book in the disabled seating from a previous experience of his knees pressing against the seat in front of him. He had to sit sideways that entire show. I must say, we LOVED the seating in the handicapped section ♿️ just wish it was closer.
We were there for a music experience, and whoever was working the sound system was horrible at turning the microphones up and down during the entire show, and it was frustrating. 🎤 🎙
Not enough of my preferred, ethnic events happen here for me to frequent as much as I'd like. Personally, I don't mind "symphony style" or country music based and predominantly white shows, but I'd love to see more events targeted towards the African-American community.
Regardless, every time I go, they never disappoint. My husband and I had a great time at...
Read moreThe entertainment options are quite impressive and the decor is stunning. The theater built in 1927 and has been restored and refurbished to reflect the grandeur of an opulent earlier age. Detailed reliefs are plentiful and tastefully placed. There is a small concession area near the restrooms. The women's restroom was clean and well stocked; though one of the stalls was missing a door; surprised they haven't put a shower curtain across the rail on the top. The thearer is a clean fresh step into the past. The show was high quality and most enjoyable. A delightful, friendly staff and down-home community makes for a...
Read moreBeautiful theatre, however, not functional for a rock concert with fans in their 60's and 70's. Very disapointed attending a Kansas 50th Anniversary Tour concert here. Paid too much for small uncomfortable seats. I am a petite person so wasn't horrible for me. I watched lots of people of my generation, who were not in shape, probably had knee and hip replacements struggle to get in and out of their seating. Also, only 2 people selling t- shirts. One to pull the shirts and the other to ring up sales. Seriously St Joe, that's the best you can do? Would never attend another venue there and would not...
