Been to Mickeys a handful amount of times. All experiences we semi okay. The waiter all the times going here has been just ruder than rude. The experience that has made me never want to go back here again is... we get there, we grab two stools at the bar/counter area. We wait for the waiter to come out and mind you there is a fair amount of people in the place so understandably there will be a pretty good wait. He comes up to my boyfriend and I and just straight out asks with no eye contact and just no soul/emotion behind it “what do you want?”. We order a waffle, pancakes, some hash browns, and a ibc root beer . He gives the cook the order slips and I see all the slips before us. There were about 7 orders/slips. So I was like alright about 15-30mins for our food. That’s okay, about normal for the last couple times coming here that have been about the same amount of people waiting in there but this time it was different. We are chitchatting and watching as plate after plate gets made and served to the people that ordered them. About 30 mins in I was like “the next order must be ours”. They’ve went thru a ton of orders but no... A HOUR later the cook is starting our food. At this point I’m starving, upset, and still haven’t even received my root beer. The cook plates our food and the waiter comes and grabs it to serve to us. We get it and my face just said it all. The frustration, upset, starvation was just smeared all over my face. He asked if I still wanted my root beer and I passed on it because I just wanted to eat and leave but then the waiter had the audacity to ask “aweeee, are you mad at me now?”. I wanted to say “yeah I am. I’ve been waiting for an hour for my food. You’ve been rude to my boyfriend and I and pretty much everyone around us. And on top of it I’ve been sitting here for an hour and I didn’t even get a drink...yeah I’m mad!” We eat our food, pay, and leave. The place was run down and there was a pile of unwanted/remains of old food on the grill right next to food that was being cooked for someone. The waiter put fries in the fryer but didn’t put gloves on and I never seen him wash his hands once. The cook was working his butt off and actually had a hat and gloves on. Which was 100% more sanitary. The freezer door was open the entire time being there. Probably not at the correct temperature either especially for it being open for an hour plus. All in all, never going back here again. It’s just not worth it. I’d recommend going to Perkins or some other restaurant. They’ll give you way better service and more sanitary and well made food. Maybe you’ll even enjoy your food a little compared...

Absolutely charming and unforgettable! Mickey's Diner is a hidden gem, an adorable train car turned diner that offers a dining experience like no other. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and an inviting atmosphere that set the stage for a fantastic meal.

We chose to sit at the bar, which turned out to be the best decision we could have made. This seating arrangement not only gave our kids an incredible front-row view of the chef in action, but it also created a wonderfully interactive experience for the whole family. The chef, a true master of his craft, was not only efficient but also incredibly personable. He began preparing our kids' orders before the waitress even handed him the ticket, which spoke volumes about his attentiveness.

What truly made our visit special was how the chef engaged with our family. He took time to ask our kids about their trip to the Minnesota Children's Museum. The atmosphere felt less like traditional dining and more like enjoying a meal with friends. Our kids couldn’t stop raving about it, repeatedly declaring it the "best restaurant ever" and eagerly asking when we could return!

Now, let’s talk about the food. It was hands down the freshest I’ve ever had, even rivaling my own cooking efforts. Each dish went from the hot stove to our plates in no time, which allowed the flavors to shine through with vibrant freshness and care. I actually had to wait before I could eat my food because it was so hot. Although the burger was greasier than I prefer it was delicious and I would order it again. The fries were addicting, very similar to five guys.

My kiddos ordered breakfast foods. French toast with sunny side up eggs, pancakes (which the chef made into smiling bears) and sausage. Not photographed because my kids devoured them as soon as they landed in front of them.

Whether you're searching for a family-friendly spot or simply want to indulge in exceptional food within a unique setting, Mickey's Dining Cart is a must-visit. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, and I can hardly wait (I saw someone's omelette and it was as big as my head! I definitely am trying that next time) for our next visit! I highly recommend this delightful diner for a culinary experience that promises to create...

INTENTIONAL FOOD POISIONING & disrespectful staff. No pork products but open for breasfast and called a diner? This place is under new management since covid. I clearly upset the kitchen staff by asking if there was any pork products. Menu is confusing because the menu is full of the words bacon, sausage and ham, and the rude staff pressures you to order before you can even read the menu. THEY ADD T- In front of normal american foods to make them appear palatable, but everybody knows beef and turkey does not make good breakfast. There should be a huge sign on the door stating that there do not serve pork products. The cook intentionally undercooked my egg to the point where the white was totally clear underneath as if they cooked my eggs and then added a raw one then served it to me. They folded over a nice done piece of egg Over the completely RAW portion, during an egg shortage... So I got a mouthful Of totally clear white egg. That didn't feel right so I split it out in a napkin. Ive had food poisioning for 3 days since. Server told me she would keep getting us coffee, and then she left the building without saying anything. Place is tiny and closterphobic and very dirty. They should have just shut it down during covid. I'm not even sure how they acquired a business license... The worst place i've ever eaten across the country, and that is saying something because I've done a lot of traveling, and seen some poorly run establishment. Undercooking eggs (intentionally) could kill people. Unless you want diarrhea for days, to be treated like a doormat instead of a customer, (or beef bacon) STAY AWAY. Mcdonald's would have been a much better choice! This place should be shut down or sold again. It's a shame they're able to make money in a place because people don't realize it's under new & terrible management... Just because a restaurant's been around for years doesn't mean...
