Afro Deli & Grill — Restaurant in Saint Paul

I came in and the employee taking orders making orders and handling cash without washing his hands and did not ask for help seeing and knowing he needed help with the line that formed. I decided to wait and ordered chicken sambusa and a grilled cheese kids meal. The grilled cheese was not fully cooked literally looked like four pieces of cheese just slapped on toasted bread the cheese was not melted at all. The chicken sambusa was so oily and it had large chunks of dry chicken in the inside. I’ve never had sambusa with chunks of chicken literally cubes of chicken. I then get my food and proceed to sit down but the sitting area was so dirty from the tables to the floors I just threw the food away and left because if it’s this dirty in the sitting area then it’s dirty in the prep area and I was not going to allow my son or myself to eat in filth. This place to be on the news and have more than one location should really be ran a little better. I won’t support them anymore not like my money will affect them. Just want them and others to know it’s not clean and the food...

Wow! I was out walking wondering where I should go for a late lunch....and as I walked down 7th Place...the smell lofting out of the building made me stop in my tracks and say to myself...." Why have I never tried this place?!" So I stopped in and I am happy I did! I was greeted by the sweetest girl asking if I had questions...and while I checked out the menu I asked her what her favorite was...and she mentioned the steak sandwich...so I ordered it. It was PERFECT! Portion size was big enough to know down 6' 4" 250lb guys hunger...and the portions of meat/bread/veggies were great! (Wish it had a little more veggies though...) The taste... amazing! All for a reasonable price? Yup! There was a guy behind me that said his favorite was the chicken fantastic...so that's next (I'm guessing tomorrow at this point)... If you have not been here...you need to go! Vegetarian options....Gluten free options (my wife is celiac so huge plus) with food that is freshly made and has more taste than anything ever imagined by a fast food...

I ordered the steak dinner for lunch today. The website says you can choose between rice and couscous, but the online ordering didn't let me choose. After I placed my order, I tried to call to request couscous instead of rice. I called about 10 times before someone finally answered. I get that you're busy but a business needs to answer their phone. She said that was fine but when I got there, she said they were out of couscous so I got rice anyway. I can't eat much rice (or very little), but I took it anyway. It was ALL rice and very little meat at all. What WAS there was really good. The rice, peppers and onions were all very tasty. It was just SO LITTLE of the meat. I was still hungry!

The lady who answered my call and gave me my food was very nice. I WILL go back bc there are other things I want to try. Like I said what I got was very good. I just won't order that thing again. And hopefully they'll...
