- Stayed in a King bed for 4 nights. - Decent location, about a 20 minute walk away from the interesting part of downtown. There are restaurants, bars and small shops nearby. The metro green line light rail to Minneapolis at 10th station is a 15 minute walk away as well. Keep in mind there will be noise, music and sirens at night, but it didn’t bother me. - The room was mostly clean— only the bathtub needed a little extra scrubbing. The room had a fridge, iron, microwave and all the typical things. Also, I loved the view from the 8th floor. - The staff members were friendly. - The hotel restaurant and bar had great food, but not so great drinks. - The pool and hot tub were nice and the area was never crowded. - The vending machines were convenient, although expensive. Next door there’s a smoke shop that has $0.50-$1 drinks. - The parking lot in the back is where you go for initial entry and check-in. There could’ve been more communication around this as I had to ask a random person on the street. - Overall, as a solo traveler, I felt safe and would stay here again.

Google sent us to the Ecolab? So don't necessarily follow Google maps to get you there- we asked someone on the street for directions. Parking is extra- $21 for a day. Great front desk staff. Very clean rooms. Stairs are on outside of the building. Three elevators for the 8 floors. They are slowwww. Stayed for a concert at xcel, and it was a great choice. Unfortunately, a fire alarm went off, elevators still worked, and the fire department was relatively quick to arrive, but it took a bit to get the all clear so we went down the street and had dinner. Our view was primarily of parking, but the cathedral was in the distance and it was pretty, especially at night. We would stay here again for another show, but maybe not if just coming to the city.

Great location for going to nearby events. My only gripe- which has nothing to do with the hotel’s actions - is the noise level in the hallways during evening hours. I get people like to share in their excitement after drinks, games, or events but some courtesy from others for noise levels in hallways or outside guests doors would be nice. My recommendation to the hotel would be to add signage and temporary displays that can be deployed during events. These could be in the elevator areas or public spaces. I had a long travel day following a disruptive night of sleep due to loud guests. Restaurants, bars, and hospital nearby and within walking distance.

The stay started off super easy with the great customer service I received at the start of the booking of my reservation over the phone. When I arrived I was greeted and made to feel right at home right off the bat. I travel a lot for work and pleasure. I have stayed in many hotels, motels, and resorts. The Holiday Inn is a great value. But its so much more then that. Every single person I met was wonderful. From the minute I arrived I was greeted by maintenance staff and the gardeners outside. I believe I passed 6 staff either leaving for their day, or working outside and each one made a point to greet me and welcome me to the Holiday Inn. The check in process was easy and the staff were wonderful. It was very busy, but they did a great job making sure everyone was treated with respect and offered a friendly smile. I had a great room and the accommodations were wonderful. The bed was very comfortable. I loved that I was given a variety of pillows on the bed that ranged from soft - extra firm. The mattress was great. The linens were soft and in great condition. They details of the room were clean. I ate in the restaurant several times during my many days there and the food was great. the presentation was nice as well. The restaurant had a great vibe to it and staff did a great job making sure all their customers were happy. The housekeeping staff went above and beyond. I seen them interact with several people during my stay ands each one was so personable.

My stay was perfect and it was because of the staff. They were very accommodating to me when I needed someone to help me. Everyone really appeared to enjoy their jobs. They were always interacting with guests and other staff and truly could see that the staff seen each other as family as well.

Thank you everyone for making my stay there, a home...

I Highly recommend this IHG (Holiday Inn branded) property for your stay in St. Paul. Location manager Steve and all the staff are very accommodating, friendly, and professional. The rooms are immaculate, and standard amenities even include a mini-fridge and microwave in the rooms. At this location, the spacious rooms are larger and more than you may expect for a standard stay at a hotel within a budget. This is a welcome change from the "efficiency" sized rooms provided at similar lower-cost stays at other competitor locations.

I also can't say enough good things about the staff here at the St. Paul Holiday Inn. Your stay will be handled by a professional and courteous staff who really care about and enjoy what they do. A friendly smile, genuine care, and meaningful assistance are the standard at this location, and what I experienced during my recent stay here at this location.

That, too, is a nice change from what now seems to be the unfortunate new norm of unhappy and dissatisfied professionals, some of whom are now working in the hospitality industry. Fortunately, for the weary traveler or excited vacationer, the experience is much different and exceedingly much better here at the St. Paul Holiday Inn. The staff professionals here at the St. Paul Holiday Inn are happy to help address any needs you may have or those that may come up unexpectedly. They take the time to ensure that you are being taken care of and getting the most out of your stay at your "home away from home" on the road, all the while with a cheerful and friendly disposition.

In the final sum, this is definitely the place to stay if you need a place to "hang your hat" (does anyone even wear those anymore? lol) if you're staying in St. Paul across from the "X" and St. Paul MN...

This hotel is located across the street from Xcel Energy centre. I picked it for this reason, plus there was a parking package as an option. If you are going to an event at the arena this is a convenient option, however the price for the night of an event was about 2 1/2 times the price of the non event night. ||Arrival/ parking: you pull into the back of the hotel to park in a small area whilst you register. The parking garage they use can be accessed from this small lot, or from the street. You are given a ticket to scan to get in and out both on foot and for the vehicle. ||Check in/out: efficient and I got a quieter room as requested. The elevators are very efficient. ||Room: good size, clean, but dark. There were just 2 bedside lamps, a tiny desk lamp which was the light that came on when you turned on the light switch by the door, and a freestanding lamp tucked in one corner away from anywhere you might be. All the lights lit one tiny area around them, leaving the rest of the room dark. The bathroom had very bright lighting and this got left on more than it should to give more light to the rest of the room. Otherwise two comfortable beds, chair, desk, tv, small area with hangers, iron and board, fridge, drawers, coffee maker. No safe. Good WIFI. ||Bathroom: reasonable size, usual bathroom furniture. Hairdryer. ||Restaurant: attached to hotel, breakfast there both days was good, not a huge menu but most people would find something, staff were nice||Vicinity: the area had a lot of restaurants, is busy a lot of the day and bustling if there is an event on at the arena. ||Overall, a convenient location, clean hotel with good service, but room was too dark and there needs to be a safe...
