I would like Corporate to know how dissatisfied I am with their infant policy. I brought an infant that I held in my arms the entire show so she could not have sat in a seat if she even wanted to since she was an infant but I was still charged for a seat, and price’s at the Ordway are not cheap. I understand if she was like 2 years old or something and needed to sit in a seat that’s a different story, she is taking a seat that could have been sold at regular price. Other theaters charge a minimal lap seat fee, like the Children’s Theater has a $5 lap seat fee. This I can understand but the Ordway is very greedy in that they feel the need to sell an infants a regular seat to grab as much money from you as possible. The Elf play was great but to spend over $250 to see it was ridiculous. I hope that more families complain about this overpriced fee that they feel the need to charge and maybe they will see it from the point of the family with small children. I will never go back to the Ordway again to protest this...
Read moreI sat in the Blog section seat 17 which is centered to the stage. I loved my view. I could see both dancers and chamber orchestra. I had minimized movement to my head with no blind spots, enough leg room, and comfortable seats. Only con, due to distance from the stage I could't see so much facial expressions by the performers. The sound system was remarkable and lighting perfect for view. I enjoyed Shen Yun presentation, from their costume, fluid movements, use of probes and I could relate to their themes emphasized; Love, Religion and Politics and versatile culture pre-communism. I would have loved to at least capture one shot during performance but photography was forbidden, which I respect, lights from camera and phones can be distracting. The atmosphere in general and set-up is great. Refreshments were rather on the pricey end, seems to be a common trend in most shows I attend. Plan ahead of time or look-up what activities are taking place in St.paul. Parking was rather challenging...
Read moreMy son attended a school sponsored event put on by you, this last Friday with many grade schoolers from Hudson WI. The show was marketed towards 2nd thru 8th graders and entitled "Pilobolus". The show featured practically nude performers dancing and prancing around in their underwear. Needless to say I would have walked out had I been there and FYI my son starred at the floor the whole show. Very proud of him. Who thought this was right or okay to show to young kids or for that mater older kids should be reprimanded? After talking to the school they were vaguely forewarned of the content of the show and that many students, parents and teachers were uncomfortable. I am very disappointed in you and see your actions as a failure. I would like and apology and an explanation and for further knowledge may never come to your establishment ever again and will get the word out to as many as possible to stop attending your shows and the disgrace that this...
