Prior to my arrival I chose a specific room. Upon my arrival, I grab my key from the front desk and head to my room dragging my suitcase and other items only to find, the room I booked was not the same room I was assigned. Went back down to the receptionist and was told “they gave your room to someone else”. What!? Why? She didn’t know, was assigned a different room and was told that I would receive a call the next day for further information. Lo and behold, no one called me. I then get one of those text I need to rate my experience in which I clicked “2” out of 5. Was then texted why I rated a 2. I explained my situation where I was told that the person staying in the room extended his stay another day. Well isn’t that convenient! So if the hotel was fully booked, I would have to sleep in my car because the person decided to stay an extra day. The correct action should have been to explain that the room is already reserved and paid for where they can certainly extend his stay but would need to relocate “him” to a different room. Why should I be inconvenienced considering my stay is 5 days and am forced to be placed into a room I didn’t want to be in. So the 2nd day I get the same text from a different individual asking me how my stay is going. I entered a 2 and again, asked why. Same explanation was given and was asked if I would be willing to receive a call to discuss. I explained yes and told her “6pm works” come 6 pm, I’m real tired but stayed up with the expectation I would be receiving a call. Nope. No call. Not that day, not the next, never. For those receiving text messaging asking how your stay is going, don’t even waste your time replying. The text is a ploy to make you believe that someone on the other end cares but clearly that’s not the case. The rooms, however were clean. They are quaint with the basics. Bedding was ok as well. Nothing to write home about. The water pressure in the shower was weak due to the money saving low flow shower head. A clear attempt for the hotel to save money at the expense of your comfort. All things considered, I’m surprised they didn’t use motion sensors for the A/C unit which some hotels use. Not sure their logic but speaking of logic… They charge $40 to park your car for the night. I personally prefer to park my car myself as I feel obligated to tip the guy A. And B, you need to call ahead for them to get the car ready. If not, you need to wait for them to bring it down. I just want to walk to my car, start it up and go. But here’s where the lack of logic sits… It’s $40 to park your car in their lot. If you decide to park it outside on the street, where there is plenty of parking, you get 2hrs to park starting at 8am which means you can leave your car till 10am before worrying about getting a ticket. The kicker is, even if you do get a ticket for parking, it’s a $30 ticket you can pay online! $10 cheaper than valeting your car at this hotel. Go figure. I do appreciate they use different soap/conditioner/lotions/ as other Hilton’s but they use this squeeze bottle that you need to squeeze to get the liquid out. Under normal circumstances it’s a good idea but only if the bottle is near full. If it’s near empty (which is how they leave it) then you need to apply extra pressure to get the soap out. Elderly people may have an issue with this. Breakfast is served between 6am-9am. I wish it would be from 7am-10am but that’s not my call. Not sure how many people wake up at 5am to leave the hotel but again… Not my call. Was it the most horrid hotel iv been to? Certainly not. I can probably live with other minor quirks but the level of service to get an unhappy guest to become satisfied is non-existent. I will be exploring other stays next time I’m in Tampa.

I made a last minute trip to visit my grandma and was fortunate enough to stay at this hotel during my stay. I spent most my days with my grandma, but every morning I would have breakfast at the hotel and then come back in the later evening. Breakfast was great, usually consisted of cereal, baked goods such as bagels or pastries, a pancake maker, and two hot items (eggs and a meat usually). As well as plenty of coffee, juice and small cartons of milk. My room was spacious and comfortable, a large walk in shower with all the amenities. I was surprised how quiet the room was given being so close to downtown. The staff here is amazing, upon arrival the housekeeping staff welcomed me as we ride the elevator and they asked where I traveled from (Minnesota). The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating answering questions I had and making suggestions for my trip. The valet runners were also great, admittedly I was a bit emotional coming back to my room on my last evening (overwhelmed with gratitude and sadness, grateful to visit my grandma but sad to have to leave) and when handing the keys and tip to him, he gently grabbed my hand and said, “I don’t know what you’re going through, but whatever it is, I hope you start to feel better.” And then gave me a hug. I was so touched by this gesture and it just made my evening. So thank you young man! (I didn’t catch his name but he was working the evening of Monday 10/16). The next day I gathered my things and walked out of my room for the last time. As I traveled down the hall towards the elevator from behind me I heard, “I hope you have safe travels back to Minnesota!” I turn around and it was the housekeeping staff I ran into on my first day! Soo friendly and I was impressed she remembered! So in short, I had a wonderful visit here at this hotel and would certainly recommend it!!! Next time, I will make reservations to the kitty cafe that’s right next door! (Next time I’ll take more photos, my mind was on family while I was here.)

We're staying here again next time we visit St. Pete. This is an absolutely fabulous spot with friendly staff, modern feeling rooms, a fantastic shower, and the best location as far as taking a nice stroll down Central Ave and hitting all the bars/restaurants on foot. Everything was clean and fresh and just comfortable. If you're planning on spending most of your day "out" this is definitely the kind of place you want to book -- and it's still more than relaxing enough when you need to bunker in and recharge. Also, I can't not compliment the absolutely fabulous Valet service here. Yes you "have" to use the valet if you're parking at the hotel itself -- but these guys are upbeat, friendly and always have a smile. Also, its clear they love their cars. If you have a "nice" car, they're happy to talk about it with you and reassure you it's being well looked after. Downsides?: Being a "less-frills" hotels you might miss some of the extra drawer/closet space. You might find yourself waiting just a touch for the elevator because of the way it's set up (hint, once "inside" you can take the stairs to go from floor to floor"). Also being right off Central means you're going to hear the drunk party people stumbling about late on a weekend. Surprise Upsides?: The main floor (3) is absolutely stocked with guest things to do, like play pool or arcade games, as well as just grab a bite to eat or stare out the windows. Also, see the earlier comment about the Valet. Worth tipping these guys extra just for great service!

I was a little annoyed that it was Valet parking only but due to limited parking in the area, there simply is no choice. Wasn't happy there is a charge that is not listed on the site though. Currently, $18 plus tax per night. The Valet guys were very nice and literally ran to retrieve cars quickly! The location is very convenient and felt safe! Tropicana is kiddy corner from it and there are several stores, restaurants and entertainment venues within walking distance.

We walked to the St Pete Pier, which was a bit of a hike but not bad. Tru Hotel does offer a shuttle service until midnight to downtown which we were not aware of but that was our fault since we didn't ask. I do believe it is a free service but not positive. There is a coral of motor scooters across the street which you can download an app and pay per minute, we did try it and it was fun! There are two elevators in the lobby, which actually wasn't to bad of a wait, considering it was NYE weekend. The lobby and staff are very nice! There is a pool table, TV, pinball game, and other games to play. Breakfast is included and was pretty good. Eggs, sausage, muffins, juices and etc. The pancake maker machine is entertaining since you are suppose to wave your hand over a sensor and it worked for everyone but us! 🤣 A nice guest showed us that you have to put your hand closer to the sensor... Pretty much touch it😁 There is an ice machine and water dispenser located next to the cafeteria area. They do have a conference room there too. There is also a laundry room at the end of the hall on level 3 for convenience. It was $1.50 & $2.00 for washer & dryer. We had a double bed room, which was small but cozy. The room was very clean and the Housekeeper was very nice & friendly. The beds have our vote for the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in!! Which says a lot since we stay at hotels very frequently and are Hilton Diamond members. The room offers a mini refrigerator, TV and a good amount of shelves and hanging spaces. It didn't have a microwave but I asked the front desk and they had one delivered to our room immediately! Kudos for the fast service!! The hotel is pet friendly for a fee and there is an area out front with a Fido Dispenser. The pool room was very nice but we didn't utilize it since it was a bit cool outside. All in all, I would stay there again and highly...

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the tru by Hilton Hotel in St. Pete, and I must say, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly staff who made check-in a breeze. The lobby was spacious, well-appointed, and exuded a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for my stay. The room itself was a highlight. It was clean, modern, and comfortable, with plenty of space to relax and unwind. I particularly appreciated the comfortable bed, which made for a great night’s sleep after a long day of exploring the area. The room also featured a stylish bathroom with ample amenities, and the large windows provided a lovely view of the surrounding area. One of the standout features of my stay was the hotel's amenities. The fitness center was well-equipped, allowing me to maintain my workout routine during my stay. I also took advantage of the outdoor pool, which was inviting and a perfect spot to relax and soak up some Florida sunshine. The pool area was well-maintained, and I enjoyed lounging there after a busy day. The dining options at the Hilton were also impressive. I had breakfast at the on-site restaurant, where I found a variety of delicious choices on the menu, from traditional favorites to healthier options. The staff was attentive and ensured that my coffee was always topped up. I appreciated the convenient on-site dining, allowing me to enjoy a satisfying meal without having to venture out. Location-wise, the Hilton in St. Pete is situated conveniently close to various attractions. It's just a short drive or a nice walk away from downtown St. Petersburg, where you can find a plethora of shops, restaurants, and cultural spots. The hotel also offers parking, which is a definite plus if you're traveling with a car. Overall, my stay at the Hilton Hotel in St. Pete was commendable. The combination of comfortable accommodations, great amenities, and a friendly staff made for a very pleasant experience. Whether you’re in town for business or leisure, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable place to stay. I look forward to returning...
