My partner and I stayed at this hotel due to our home being uninhabitable due to the Hurricane Helene storm surge. While the hotel is nice and the staff helpful considering they had their own storm challenges, there is no excuse for allowing another storm victim to get victimized again by the hotelās contracted towing service that operates in a predatory manner. There is a special place in hell for this hotelās ownership for allowing a towing service to so aggressively tow from their small unpaved and unsecured parking lot when the hotel lobby location and check in process will create a delay getting a āhotel parking permitā. That parking permit by the way is $27/day and the staff does not disclose this. They did not for us. But during the check in process, the staff was super paranoid we would get towed if we did not go tend to our vehicle immediately. Even the staff knows the towing service is overly aggressive and predatory (probably waiting nearby and constantly checking cars).
So Sunday 9/29/2924 morning 8am (roughly 2 days after the storm surge devastation), this woman guest with her dog is visibly upset and in tears telling the front desk clerk she could not reach the towing company that towed her Enterprise rental while she was checking in the day before. She explained she left a note saying she was checking in but by the time she went back to her rental, it was gone. She told the clerk she was homeless (displaced by the storm surge) and now does not even have her rental. I asked her where she lives. She said Treasure Island, which was absolutely devastated and police were not even allowing residents back to their homes.
The whole event watching this woman in so much distress because she was victimized again by the hotel was heartbreaking. This hotel and the predatory towing company just wait for an errant hotel guest to leave their car for 30 minutes in their parking lot to make their $200. Disgusting and sickening. Several storm victims stayed at this hotel over this same weekend. We met and spoke to others. Maybe itās time to call off the predator tow company.
The hotel ownership owes this Treasure Island woman compensation and a huge apology. The front desk clerk can confirm this story and will know who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff was beyond friendly and when there was an issue, they were right there to assist Location: Perfect location if you do not want to use the car. The hotel only has 17 spots which if u buy a spot it comes at a hefty price. There is plenty of free parking in the surrounding area as long as you read the signs correctly. We stayed for 3 days and had no problems.
Room: after reading the reviews, most mentioned to stay on the 3rd floor because of the noise. Although the bed was cozy and mattress was comfortable⦠the noise was beyond intolerable. We stayed in room 301 which had a nice view of the street but please. If u want comfort and a restful night, stay in the back side with no view. Trust me - you will enjoy your stay much more. It kinda ruined our second day from lack of sleep. On Sat, it was on till 3am. The staff should really lower it slightly after 2am. The bass was truly a nightmare!
Pool and atmosphere: The pool was not heated when we arrived but manager mentioned it would be on for the weekend. We really wanted to enjoy the pool as did another guest there but he too said it was just too cold to enjoy. The bar was fun, drinks were not over priced and the bartenders were fun! Downfall for us was there were to many girls in the regular disco bar but not at the pool bar. We found that to be more fun with a better crowd for us. Screaming girls surrounding the bar is not our thing. The new bar outback appeared to be more of a Lesbian bar which was fine! Everyone needs a place they feel comfortable in. I will say, it was the coolest looking of all the bars there. Lastly, I will say we bar hopped and the pool bar was busiest and had the best looking eye candy in the city! The other bars were full of gremlins in the dark so I can only imagine if the lights were bright!
Morning breakfast: Although it is generous to provide a light breakfast, it was only a muffin/bagel with cream cheese/butter. There were also only 4 seats to socialize with other guests. I feel like if they added some high tops and stools⦠this would make it easier for a more enjoyable lite breakfast!
Would I stay again, absolutely give it another try but I like to party and get rest when I want it. Iāll give it another try if rooms are open...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited the pool at this hotel for a few days as it's open for people not staying at the hotel. I met a guy named Andrew who was staying at the hotel and was invited to his room to check it out. His friend Conrad (Connie) is a manager at the hotel, acts like he's so powerful and is someone special because he works for a gay establishment, it's sickening. Anyway, Conrad gave me his number as a way to have a contact there in case I wanted to apply for a job. After I returned home, I texted Conrad several times and finally told him after no response, that I would go ahead and delete his number as I didn't appreciate being ignored. He replied by telling me he would "go ahead and have me trespassed from the property so that I would never have to meet him again." The next day, the General Manager, Tyler David Foxx texts me a very long, very rude text telling me that his manager was well within his right to ban me and that I was not welcome at the hotel. He told me that he had looked up my record (which is none of his business) from Wisconsin and determined that I wasn't someone they wanted on the property. Not sure what prompted this. He said that he reviewed the video footage and that was also used to come to this decision. I'm still confused as to what that would have shown other than me going to this guys room briefly. He also tried to intimidate me by saying a police report had been filed and a formal complaint sent to the state attorney's office, which is not true. I called the police station and the district attorney's office. Absolutely nothing. I still don't know why these people singled me out like they did based on such an innocent message. I think it was out...
