Great store BUT the store allows people to bring in their dogs and these dogs are NOT service dogs.
I am 100% for any service dog to be allowed in the store especially for veterans but this Salem location allows any person to bring in their pets.
I was in the food section and this person is walking around the store with their Giant Schnauzer dog. Another store patron sees this dog in the food aisle and mentions OUT LOUD “this has to stop allowing people to bring their pets in the store that are not service dogs.”
The store manager comes over after hearing the ruckus. I join in supporting the gentleman that Ocean State Job Lots needs to change their store policy only allowing service dogs in the store and not all the people that pretend they need to be with their dog as if the dog was a child.
I requested the store manager create an incident report to Ocean State Job Lot Corporate that the store’s liberal policies need to be changed (hopefully corporate sees this review if the incident report wasn't created).
When a dog bites someone in the store Ocean State is going to be liable resulting in store prices to be increased to cover the loss. When the dog pees on the floor and the entitled pet owner just ignores “the accident” and there is a slip and fall, again Ocean State will be liable and prices will need to be increased to cover the legal bills and settlement.
When Salisbury Beach State Reservation does NOT allow dogs or other pets, with exception of service animals on beach from April 1st to September 15th why the heck is Ocean State Job Lots in Salem, NH allowing dogs in their stores??? Salisbury Beach Reservation is an outdoor beach with NO PETS ALLOWED yet pets are allowed at Ocean State Job Lots in Salem, NH including the in the food section. Wake-up Ocean State Job Lot...
Read moreI personally like this store. They don't stock everything so it may not be the store for everyone but if they have what you're looking for, chances are that you can get it cheaper here. Especially with there so called CRAZY DEALS which is a program in which you purchase a certain item and they give you the same amount of money you spent back to you in Ocean States own specially made money, which can only be used IN STORE. So basically it's like you spent nothing. I also like the FACT that they help Veterans although I'm not one myself. If you purchase a coat, they'll give that coat to a Veteran and they'll give you back the amount you spent in their Crazy Money. As I said above they don't sell everything but I think that most people that go there will end up walking out...
Read moreThere water has rust in it. When I worked there I filled up my water bottle and the first sip I took I could taste the rust. Although there’s a sign in the bathroom saying ‘if it’s dirty bring the attention to customer service’ more than likely the bathroom has been like that for a couple of days because management doesn’t want to do anything. I got sick due to one of their protein drinks. On the bottle it says keep out of excessive heat and light but did the managers listen? Nope. They put those protein drinks under a harsh light which isn’t good because those drinks contain milk. I threw up violently at school to the point where I was too weak to call out myself my dad had to do it and they held that against me. YOUR product was the thing that got me sick how is...
