I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to experience everything that Salem has to offer. About the Salem Cat Museum: It's a small, but super cute, art gallery that showcases prints, paintings, figurines and pop-culture artifacts about cats. Some of them are Salem-related too. It has a gift shop in the front with a curated selection of items at good prices. The "museum" section includes a room of  paintings, prints etc. and two nooks: a reading nook and a craft nook. Currently, the entrance ticket is voluntary by donation. You can tell that lots of love was poured into this project! The space is super nice, bright and joyful, with an uplifting atmosphere. My friend and I really enjoyed our visit! It is somewhat walking distance from downtown Salem, although in an area where there are not that many other businesses. If you drive here - which I recommend - there is plenty of street parking around the block.

I found this place on instagram & have been following the account / wanting to visit for a few months now. I finally got an opportunity to go this past Saturday & it was amazing! The front of the museum is a gift shop where they sell everything from cat toys to beautiful art prints. Behind this is the cat art gallery, where they have some pretty amazing art pieces. There’s also a small craft room & they even have a ‘cat museum library’ where the shelves are filled with great cat literature. They seem to have guest pop ups very often; the day I was there it was Salem Cat Aid, they had a cat and her kitten there to meet people & were selling art done by kittens, too cute! The woman working at the desk was very friendly and I was super excited about my art purchases. Overall a great experience for any cat lover!

My wife and I found one our new favorite spots in Salem! When we first walked in I was expecting a larger space but despite the small size there was so much to look at. We really enjoyed the beautiful pieced of art, the cat crafts and cat tats! Also the fact that it's currently donations only makes even more worth a trip. We can't wait to come back!

We had a delightful visit at the cat museum. It was not a big space, but it was packed with lots of interesting and beautiful cat themed art works. They had a little arts and crafts room where you could make a cat Christmas decoration. There is also a very cozy reading corner with cute comfy chairs and lots of cat books. The little shop area in the front also had a great selection of all kinds of cat themed gifts. The owner was super nice and friendly. The entrance fee is donation based for now. This is a hidden gem that's slightly outside downtown Salem. There is lots of street parking on Boston Street. Check it out if you love cats or...
