Today I went back to this salon for the first time in almost 2 years. I walked in no appointment and they let me know I’d probably be waiting a little while (that was no problem.) I asked for a gel pedicure and dip manicure. I asked if the colors they had on display were in dip too I was assured that all of their colors were in dip, gel and regular polish. So I picked the colors for my mani and pedi. Pedicure went well it was nice and relaxing. A second nail tech came to start my dip manicure. She put the clear dip coat and started buffing and shaping my nails (which I thought was odd because they usually wait til all of the dips is on to do this) after she was done she started putting gel polish on top. I told the tech I had asked for a dip manicure not a gel. She said they don’t have all of the colors in dip so they do a dip base and a gel polish. I had let her know that no one had informed me of this and asked if it was a cheaper price since I’m basically getting a gel manicure she said “no same price.” I honestly did let her finish my manicure because it’s hard for me to get out of the house with a toddler at home. Needless to say I was basically led to believe/paid for a dip manicure that was in fact a gel manicure. I feel jipped and I definitely won’t be going back there. Thumbs down to the staff for being dishonest with me from the start
**edit my nails have already chipped and it hasn’t even been a week. ** I have never been to a nail salon that doesn’t inform you they don’t have your colors in dip. Respectfully you should always inform your customer if what they want isn’t available **again adding gel on top of a dip base DOES NOT make it a dip manicure. **the purpose of the dip is to prevent the cracking...
Read moreI went here for a same day visit which was not really scheduled when I got there due to a mistake by the front desk girl. I came for an eyebrow tinting and wax totaling $40. I sat for a while and then was rushed back to a chair that wasn’t sanitized after the last person had been sitting in it. The woman waxed my eyebrows and the shape was amazing. I let her know I was apprehensive in doing the tinting because my friend who went right before me eyebrows looked really dark. She assured me mine wouldn’t look that dark. However, she DID NOT shade match my eyebrows at all. She shaped the tint well but again the shade was completely off. She then proceeded to hand me a hand full of cotton pads and said wipe it off in 30mins. Well she presumptuously thought I lived close enough to adhere to this. I also feel like this is part of her job and I shouldn’t be completing her service in which I paid for. This was my first tinting and I didn’t know what I was wiping off or how. Thank goodness my friend had gotten it done before and lived close enough. Everything was RUSHED, the place was packed, and I felt like I was in a puppy mill. I WILL...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer at Colorful Nails in Peabody for nearly 4-4.5 years, given its convenient location just 3 minutes from my home. Initially, the owner and staff were accommodating, and the salon was well-maintained. However, since the opening of a new location in Beverly, the quality of service at Peabody has noticeably declined. I have documented my experiences with before-and-after photos of my nails, and unfortunately, I have often left feeling dissatisfied. Despite my attempts to communicate my preferences and address issues such as broken nails, I felt blamed for the problems. Appointments have become rushed, and I've noticed an increase in upcharges for services. Even when I requested simultaneous mani-pedi appointments, they were often rushed, with only one technician assigned to me. Additionally, the use of coarse drills has resulted in significant damage to my nails, which I am still trying to recover from even three months later. Regrettably, I can no longer recommend Colorful Nails in Peabody, as my experiences have severely diminished my...
