FIX Mobile LLC — Attraction in Salisbury

Seems like a decent enough place. Friendly enough staff member tried to help me out. I stated what I was pretty sure was wrong with my phone, and all the various steps I went through. Not sure if they have anything that can more thoroughly diagnose what certain issues could be, just so they are more certain themselves. Unfortunately it seems places like this get overpriced to try and do things I can do myself. Wanted to charge me $50 to install a replacement part that I can easily get between $6 & $8 online, and do myself in 10 minutes. Wanted to try and get it taken care of right away, rather than wait a few days or more to get it shipped to me. They won't sell you just the part, companies like this feel the need to charge exorbitant labor fees I guess. I might have been convinced if they only wanted to charge me $20 all together (MAYBE $30 at a very extreme) to do it themselves if they won't sell parts (which I'm sure they get even cheaper). But if they want to drive away the more knowledgeable customers. Probably would have a lot less business if people would have a touch of patience and bother to research some of the problems with their phones, and find out just how simple some things are to...

For $300 they made a minor problem worse!

My charging port was broken. The phone wouldn't charge. So I took it in and they said they could fix it. They had to order the part, so I bought a second battery and in the meantime I fell into a routine of charging the battery externally, then swapping it with the one in the phone. Everything was working well, aside from the minor annoyance of swapping batteries.

A week later they received the part, so I took my phone in. I picked it up two hours later and the real problems started. The new screen was defective (which they fixed the following day), but worse, my phone now restarts whenever the screen times out. So, if I'm on a call, and the screen times out, phone restarts. Listening to music and the screen times out, phone restarts. I set the time out at the Maximum 10 minutes, so throughout the night, every ten minutes, my phone restarts.

They essentially said it's the motherboard and there's nothing they can do, but it sure as heck didn't have that problem before I brought it in! So $300 later I now have the most annoying phone in the world.

After a moment of stupidity resulting in a smashed phone screen, I had to find someone to fix it quickly. I did a Google search and found this place had solid reviews. I was happy to see they were open on a Sunday, so I stopped over to see what my stupidity was going to cost me... $280 to replace the screen, LCD and digitizer on a Samsung Note 5. I was told the part was expensive and the majority of the cost at about $220. I did confirm later the part is very expensive. The cheapest I could find it was for $250, with the most reliable sites selling it for $300. Every tutorial for self-replacement made it clear this wasn't an easy job... So for $30- $60 in labor I felt it was well worth the cost to have a pro do it... Less than an hour later my phone was done and looked as good as new! I got to see the damaged piece, and looking at it just confirmed it didn't seem like DIY job.. All in all, this was as painless a process as possible considering the bad situation I was in... First I recommend you don't break your phone, but if you do, then I highly recommend this shop to get it...
