Hate it. Found them on groupon. I finally got my girlfriend to agree on giving yoga a chance. Been trying to convince my girlfriend to try yoga since we started our relationship a few months ago. I explained to her all the different benefits you gain from yoga. Told her they aren't hippies. What a great wellness tool it can be. I got her all psyched and pumped up. So I pre purchased 20 classes online at "CENTERED CITY YOGA" We were excited. I was pretty darn excited. The day she went in for her first time at the "CENTERED CITY YOGA" location was a mistake. I should have did better research on a better location. Got the text that she was upset. Couldn't attend class. The online pre-purchased classes I bought were not acceptable. The receptionist was unprofessional, unenthused, unwelcoming and unwilling. My girlfriend sat on the couch and waited while the receptionist helped another customer that was behind her. The customer completed her inquiries and proceeded to my girlfriend. The customer tried to help, but to no avail. The customer told my girlfriend the receptionist was unhelpful and unfriendly to her. Few minutes past. She thought the receptionist was going to help. She was wrong, she left. My question to this location is why wouldn't you train or put some one in the front desk that is capable of doing there job? At the least, answer questions? Poor Management I figure. After talking to my girlfriend I called and asked the receptionist if I may speak to her supervisor. Patti the supervisor wasn't available? How convenient. Can I get her voicemail? "No!" she informed me... She was going to write it down for me. She would write down my message and give it to Patti, the supervisor. Yeah... ok. From online groupon tech savy studio to writing down messages. Where's my money? I tracked down my money. I've recovered every hard earned penny back. I'm not doing business here. I should've leaned more on the other negative reviews. That it smells and the atmosphere is egotistic. That there are better yoga locations around the valley. Don't fall for what the "CENTERED CITY YOGA" website advertises. It was a hired tech and advertising companies that created that website, it's not remotely accurate to what it advertises. It's not welcoming, not a home like atmosphere. Run away from this place. Do not go if your new to yoga. Do your research on better locations. Honestly, What a waste of my life and time. My girlfriend told me the receptionist was rude, unfriendly, and unwilling to help. Another customer had to give assistance to my girlfriend. Really? Not only do I need to find another location, I also need to convince my girlfriend how great yoga is all over again. I think our relationship might not survive this ordeal. She was upset and she's talking about doing other things like bow hunting. Good grief. Thanks for nothing "CENTERED CITY YOGA." I am going to try another studio called "Avenues Yoga". Its not far from this location. If your shopping around like I am or know a better place... Please let me know where a good studio is. Chances are you might see a review from me, good or bad from Avenues yoga. Hopefully they are not monkeys as well. I'll notify you if they are. I didn't place judgement here. It failed itself. Verdict= Avoid until further assistance from one of...
Read moreI found CCY when I was coming out of a period of disconnection and depression, and I’m so glad I did. The teachers are kind and welcoming, I feel that the owners act from good intentions, and there are all kinds of classes you can explore to find what suits your heart.
I’ve loved their power classes, Ashtanga classes, and core-focused classes. I always leave feeling incredibly uplifted.
Both the hot and main spaces are clean, calming, and inviting. From my experience, I’d recommend the main studio if you’re looking for more traditional yoga, a strong grounding element, peace, simplicity, and personal support from teachers. I’d recommend the hot studio if you’re looking for more a modern/western feel with a focus on self-expression, latest music hits, and motivational-type words from teachers. I tend to go to the main space when I want peace, progress, spirituality, and connection, and the hot yoga space when I’m in more of a dancey/free/almost workout mood (does that make sense?).
If you’re a total beginner, I wouldn’t personally recommend exclusively going to the hot yoga space because I don’t think teachers can see you well enough to give you important cues as you’re forming habits, but that’s just my own perspective.
I’ve learned more about what yoga really is by being part of the CCY family, and I’m so grateful to Rachel, Eric, and the teachers and students for creating...
Read moreMy experience at Centered City Yoga was amazing! I had never been to an actual class but have been doing yoga in my spare time at home for some time. I'll admit I was nervous when first arrived because I wasn't sure what to expect, I thought there'd be people goin on about how there chakras were more aligned than others, kinda like when buff guys at the gym compare muscles; BUT it was nothing like that! Everyone was super calm and welcoming. The vibe I felt immediately was that of peaceful, welcoming and warm, though the warm may have been because it was 97 degrees that day ;) I initially chose to visit because well 1) I like yoga and needed the direction because when I do yoga its kind of just random and inconsistent ha! and 2) because I went to high school with one of the instructors Perry Lane! My session with him was great, it flowed well, was relaxing, and had opportunities to push ones self. I spoke casually with a couple of people before the lesson and each encounter was pleasant. Its overall a very open and welcoming place! I quit my membership with my gym and plan to start going to CCY much more. I look foreword to working with other instructors and their variety of classes and levels. GO TO...
