Do not trust your high-end cars with these amateurs! Here are my personal examples as to why this company is incompetent: Paid $20k for custom exhaust on my McLaren 720s. M&M damaged my bumper. They admitted to the damage and I eventually returned the car to M&M for paint repairs. M&M said it would take a week in/out, but it took 3 weeks to complete. There were no updates; I had to ask every time. After the paint repairs, I took the 720s to my detail shop to get the PPF reinstalled on the freshly painted bumper, and M&M initially refused to cover the costs of reinstalling the PPF. I had to get the detail shop CEO involved with the M&M GM "Sa-le" to convince the M&M GM that they should cover the costs. The M&M GM's position was that there was no PPF on my car's bumper when the damage happened - even though my entire car was PPF'd before I brought it in for my exhaust modifications. "Sa-le" was arrogant, rude, and extremely difficult to work with - constant denial, projection, and blaming others. I've never met a more unprofessional GM in my life; he clearly instills a culture of arrogance and lack of accountability. Despite my bad experience above, I decided to give M&M another chance and do an exhaust mod on my AMG 63. I received a $12k quote and decided to proceed with the work. As the work began, I got a call from M&M saying they didn't realize they had to remove my transmission for the exhaust mod and said I would be charged an additional $5k. At this point, I had no choice but to proceed. Once again, the job took two weeks instead of 2-3 days as promised, with no update reports from M&M. I got my AMG back and immediately noticed rattles throughout my exhaust. So much so that you could hear the rattles louder than the modified exhaust. I decided to take the car to a mechanic shop for an exhaust inspection, and the mechanic was shocked to discover numerous loose parts and connections that were supposed to be welded but were not. The mechanic was able to spend a day fixing and welding the exhaust and got it to proper working order. My cost for this repair work was $850. So I met with the M&M GM, "Sa-le" again and had the mechanic share the details of the repairs. The M&M GM essentially said it was my problem to deal with and he refused to reimburse the essential repairs the mechanic had to do to get the exhaust working properly. Unbelievable!
After paying almost $40k in work to M&M, they refuse to stand behind their work, they refuse to take accountability for their mistakes, and they are arrogant and highly unprofessional. From here on, I will ship my high-end cars to dealers outside of Utah before returning to Makes & Models. Nothing but over-promises and under-delivery. I highly recommend you do NOT trust your cars to this company. Feel free to reach out to me if you want...
Read more11 months after taking my car into them, three engines later, they say we can’t do it, return my car without any engine and the transmission out. Tried to get me to pay for $20,000 of parts that aren’t even on my car, when i say no I’m not paying that they took it from the 10,000 I paid for the engine I don’t even have and gave me $400 back. A year later, a loss of $10k plus and the give me the engine that was in the car (not that I bought through them) and they didn’t even have put it in the car, they put it back on a pallet. I had my car sit there for 11 months and gave them $10,000 just to have them tell me oh we can’t do it, here’s your car in worse shape that you brought it in. Absolute worst company I have dealt with, a year went by and not once did the owner talk to me, every time I or my parents came in, We got told to wait the owner will be here in 15 and it would end up being 45 minutes and he would just come in and go hop on a call, wasted time just to have the same “oh we can’t figure it out cause we gave up” excuse. I just got excuse after excuse of why they can’t do it or why they waited a month to go get a part or call the engine company to see if they’ll send another engine or blah blah blah. You would think if you bought an engine through a company and it was messed up they would fix it, not make you buy two more and all the extra parts, then try to charge you for them YES charge you for them when they didn’t even end up on an engine or in the engine in the car. I could say more and more and more and make you guys seem more terrible because I won’t. I have serviced 3 bmws through them, have had their banners on two of my bmws, and even sent in my friend to get an oil change a couple months ago, despite dealing with problems from makes and models. I wish I would have just went to the dealership or literally anyone else that would do it. I went here because up until this, I supported you guys, my two old bmws stayed running because of guys. I’ve been a customer for 5 years, and I would hope you don’t treat anybody who has been for longer or even for 5 days like you did me. And I sure hope that when you return their car to them you return how it came or better, not without an engine and transmission left behind on a pallet because you were too lazy to fix the other three and too lazy to put the old one back in and give me my car how I gave it to you. Disappointed and angry to say the least. I would literally recommend anywhere else but here now. I can’t believe in 11 months they couldn’t...
Read moreI was recommended to these guys to do an oil change. I specifically said, “Don’t open the roof”. When I picked the car up, there was a sticky note on the open/close control that said, “Do not open roof”. I thought, “Nice, they wrote a note for the techs to make sure they don’t open it.” But then, I can clearly see that someone did. All of the little pulley strings that move some of the fabric flashing away from the roof system were snapped. I reached out to “Kevin” via text. I received a text back, not from Kevin, saying he was out of town and they would check the cameras. Another text came through, “I just talked to the guys, where was the note? They didn't see it. They noticed the rear windows would not roll up and they were trying to secure the vehicle. They noticed the display didn't show the top was latched, so they did unlatched and re-latched it.” They didn’t see the note? Then that tells me someone wrote the note after the fact. Weird. I still have “the note”. Maybe I’ll have it analyzed to see who wrote it. Lol
After being told via text that Kevin will call me to discuss, no call was received or text. Hence, I called him. He said he has been busy and short staffed to call me back. Unacceptable. Especially over something so stupid. I’m fairly sure he thought this would just “go away”. I said, “I’m not asking you to fix it. I’ll have someone else do it. But it’s the principal that no one even took responsibility of doing the damage.” With no one acknowledging this mistake, who knows what else they don’t tell their customers?
Are the days of honest techs, service shops, car dealers in general, gone??
Never will these guys touch a car of mine, again. To be dishonest and not come forward over something so dumb, is beyond me. There are other businesses in slc that ARE better BUT you really have to seek them out. After this instance, I found one. Precision European. No fancy showroom. Just a legit service shop that can literally fix anything. When I told them Makes & Models charged me $800 for an oil change, they about died. Apparently the owner sold the business but he’s still working w the new owners. I’m telling you, you’ll never find a more honest group of people. Just look at their shop … it’s chuck full of cars! And, if they don’t have time to fix/service your car, they will recommend someone who can.
Kevin DID say he was sorry and he make it right. But the damage was done. I’ll never step foot in their place again and...
