I absolutely love visiting Washington Square. That's definitely a highlight of downtown Salt Lake that you must see.
No bump into people from all over the world visiting the beautiful historic building. I often get asked questions about it from people from all over the us as well as the world.
There are plenty of paved pathways and 6 beautiful circular floral gardens. It's a beautiful building to take engagement pictures, I see a lot of high school graduation pictures taken here too.
Their security here is on point and the very best in the city. This is where the mayor of Salt Lake city's office is as well. So it is the city and county building.

Read moreWent to this park before the leaves on the trees came back. It’s directly across the street from the Main Branch of the Public Library. The courthouse is also across the street from this park.
There is a lot of shade from the trees. I noticed someone eating at a picnic table underneath the trees. Lots of grass. Your dog would love it. However, you would absolutely have to pick up after it when it goes to the bathroom. There are paved walkways that go around the entire park. So you could push a stroller around the park with no problem.
This park is very political. It’s patrolled by security officers. I would not go to this park when political events are taking place. Other than that, it’s a great place to be near nature...

It's a little odd to me that literally one block over, there are homeless people sleeping all over the place, but this location doesn't have a one.... Not sure why that is. It does make me feel a little uneasy, however, that such a beautiful site is also the location where some people experience the worst day(s) of their lives - It is a county/court building, & while the visuals are breathtaking, it's hard to forget how many people walk into this building never to be free again, or to receive the news that their loved one's attacker/killer is going free, etc...
