Although this is a good location as far as you are within walking distance of Starbucks, if that's your thing or let's say you want to go walk the down the street to McDonald's or if you want to walk around downtown it's close to the trax it's off a bus line etc etc. My problem is with the general manager of the establishment. Let me start with him. I went in one day and asked what's going on with the laundry room for example? And he said well I don't have to have an attitude and be rude. All I did was ask. Hey, what's going on with the laundry room? It's supposed to be open at 9:00 a.m. as far as I know and here it is. 9:20 a.m. is there something wrong with it? Like is it maybe needing some attention mechanically or? And he said that I don't need to have an attitude in that. They'll get to it as soon as possible. Well, I didn't have an attitude. I just simply asked the straightforward question. After that a couple days later I went to renew my stay. All of a sudden they're not able to do that supposedly. When I asked why charity the person who was there on that specific day wouldn't give me a reason why. So I left for a couple days to another hotel and then came back to this hotel. All you need to deal with someone trying to tell me that I'm on the do not rent list. When I asked why because I've never had a problem with them. They refuse to give me an answer and try to help me understand what's going on. Finally I got hold of the GM and he refused to give me a reason why. When I try to say hey man. I'm just trying to get out the street so I can have Ruth over my head, take a shower and have a bed sleeping. I'm homeless man. Didn't seem to have a care in the world aside from that, the rooms are gross. Disgusting floors are disgusting. Beds are uncomfortable. The pillows are basically next to nothing lemons are soiled at times and I have stayed at this property. There's times where allegedly they had none. Absolutely no towels. No nothing at one point I don't know if it's happened again since but for a good month and a half 2 months of me staying at this property off and on. No toilet paper couldn't get any. I guess it makes way too much sense if your supplier isn't able to get toilet paper for some awkward reason, which I find impossible to believe why not go to Sam's club? Why not go to Costco? And buy in bulk. I mean this establishment has a list of negative from the homeless that kick it like it ain't nothing doing drugs. Loud music people begging for money panhandling on the property as well as around the property. People will sit there and do drugs right in front of you as you're going into your room like it is what it is staff for. The most part are very ignorant. Shady have no common sense. No common decency rude disrespectful. The only person I can say I really liked out of here at this location was Rocky. Yes me and Rocky had a moment one night where Al's getting highly aggravated because I put in an online booking and he didn't let it go through for whatever reason on his end so I could get a room for a couple days that I had booked. Went to another hotel. Got the same deal across the street at the quality inn with the exception of paying $100 deposit which is normal. Otherwise for the same price you're paying at this motel, go across the street to the quality inn. Yes, you have to pay $100 deposit at the time of getting a room but the lobby's cleaner they serve breakfast which is pretty decent. Something extra again but it's okay. The rooms are way nicer way cleaner. TV's actually work, bathrooms and rooms are way more presentable. The beds are way cleaner and more comfortable way better pillows. Basically the point is for the same price that you pay across street at motel 6. You're getting a way better deal at quality inn. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to quality inn. If you have the extra $100 that you get back for a security deposit, I will never try attempt to even bother with this location. With motel 6 ever again I'm purely disgusted with the buildings rooms, the...
Read moreWhen I walked in initially and told the guy there I had a reservation and asked to check in a little early, he looked me right in the eye and told me I didn't have a reservation. I had to tell him twice I'd made it online before he asked my name to check for my reservation. Their website claimed a 3pm check in time, I submitted online that I didn't anticipate being there until 4. The guy wouldn't let me check in at 3:40. I had an errand to take care of so I left and came back. I initially reserved a handicap unit as I needed one. I was given an offer to upgrade to a nicer room for a buck and change more, which I took. I made sure to tell them on that form that I needed a bottom floor unit. I called twice to follow up and make sure they knew and were aware. Each time I was assured I would get a bottom floor unit. When I was finally being checked in they assigned me a second floor unit and told there were no more bottom floor units. Two men right behind me were given a bottom floor unit and did not have a reservation. The unit I was given smelled very heavily of men's cologne, and I am sensitive to cologne and perfume. I was so tired I put on a mask and took a nap. I had to go to a grocery store and get a few items I badly needed for the night and went around 9pm. When I came back around 9:30pm the room was still unoccupied. I stepped outside around 4am to get some air because of how strong the smell of cologne still was, and a group of about 4 men were talking about how lucky they were to get a room that late and they walked into the unit right below me. I did not feel safe. There were enough drunks and drug addicts walking around that I did not feel safe enough to step outside until 4am. After the men walked into their room I was approached by a junkie and asked if I was okay and did I want some drugs. I went right back in and stayed in until around 8am and left. While I was getting things packed into my room I watched one man go to a room 3 doors down from me and buy drugs. When I stepped out to meet my door dash driver I saw another person go to that same unit and buy drugs. Then while I was eating in my room a lady knocked on my door and insisted someone she was looking for was in my unit and wouldn't go away for several minutes. The only reason they didn't get a complete 0 rating was because when I went to meet my driver I accidentally locked myself out of my room where my id was and they were nice enough to give me another key without the id because one of the employees remembered me...
Read moreThere are ups and downs with every property in a franchised location. This Motel 6 is different than any of the other downtown locations I have stayed at in downtown Northern and Southern California/ City Center of Portland, Oregon/Downtown Boise, Idaho/City Center Denver, Colorado/Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada (Off of Tropicana Blvd, across from McCarren International Airport)/and so on...
I am not sure why this Motel 6 is as strict or as restricted as they are here. It could be the management, could be the area between 500 and 600 South with the crime involved or drug dealing, or because it's a mix of all of it. Totally the place feels like a "lock-down" of sorts if you are a guest, or have multiple guests with bookings while there. They make it practically impossible for any friend to visit, unless you have an ID (which is the most accepting part) and check in as a visitor to the guest(s) and the room they are in and for how long. Failure to do this results in immediate removal of the assigned and booked guest(s) in said rooms, and the visitor(s) for yielding to this rule. Now every other Motel 6 I have been to as stated above out of state, or even of the other 2 nearby locations (The Airport Motel 6 off of North Temple and Redwood Road) or (The Motel 6 - Central location off of 315 West and 3300 South) which are in the outer metro downtown area of Salt Lake City, do not hold to these rules or are not this strict, in fact most hotels & motels that I visit or come to say hello or stay with someone that is their, I am usually able to go right to the room, and nothing is ever generally said to me, even if I ask the desk if I'm okay to stay, even more often without my ID being seen. So far my Boyfriend who is staying here cannot have me here, because my ID is "Missing in Action" so to speak, and the main general manager, he isn't rude, but won't even allow me in to see my boyfriend or stay with him, which hurts me a lot. Due to this, I actually am stuck "forced home-less" situation until we go back to our apartment by the middle of this week. My boyfriend has also seen over 7 people removed from the property because of either not following this main visiting rule, or otherwise noted. I do not recommend friends nor family to stay here, and especially tourists. There are at least 6 different local suites, hotels, and motels that would offer a much more "free & relaxed" environment. This place makes Salt Lake a bad visit, if...
