Leon Valley Community Center — Attraction in San Antonio

This was the most affordable place for my free public art event. I do wish I could have gotten the public discount as I did the ever at a loss.

The venue itself was fine for an underground arts and crafts event. There's a few things other types of events might not like. Bathrooms have a ton of limestone residue. Cleaning crew cleaned right before my event tine; my artists who arrived on time had to enter the building late as cleaning was still going on.

Overall the venue has a safe atmosphere. I appreciated the security guards checking the parking lot too. Ample parking, ADA parking. On site tables and chairs. You can control the temperature. Power outlets accessible.

Note, the table surface is uneven and worn in. Don't expect to balance a jewelry display on the tables safely.

I thought the Christmas decor would interfere with my event, but they actually enhanced it.

I plan on going back. Update Nov 2021

The venue did renovations to the entire place and man does it look good now. The kitchen has many high-end appliances, the floors are re-done, and overall the place...

I voted here, it didnt look like this. I walked into the door with my drivers driver's license out and a nice little old lady said she didnt want my drivers license and asked me if I wanted the glove or the pencil....... I was confused so I asked her what the glove was for......... she said to push the buttons on the ballad machine. There was a big thing of sanitizer right next to the pencils, so I asked her "can I just use this sanitizer thing when I'm done voting?" And she said yes, then I thought heck I could use a brand new #2 pencil for activites, so I asked her hey can I get one of those pencils and she said yes. I went to the next station with my brand new pencil in my pocket, they asked me for my drivers license, gave me my ballot and I went and voted. I went by the first lady and squirted hand sanitizer in my hand, as I'm walking out the exit door there was a sink to wash your hands in and next to it was a large box full of #2 pencils!!! I grabbed twenty pencils shoved them in my pocket, washed my hands and laughed all the way to my truck. I guess the place ok, I got to vote and I got a pocket full of...

I wish I could post zero stars!!!!! This venue looked great and I payed good money for it... But, the day of my daughters wedding, it was horrible!! Roaches in the back, bugs in the kitchen and, worst of all... The A/C did not work. The security guard told us that it had been out for awhile and, they couldn't fix it. Really!? I booked it a year in advanced and they had my number. No phone call about A/C...WTH!? I could of bought fans or they could of offered the smaller venue! It was so hot in there that my granddaughter, daughter of the bride got heat exhaustion and, two others. I got charged more from caterer because of heat. This is not acceptable!!! You will see me tomorrow... Mader then you have ever seen anyone!! My poor grand baby... You have no idea what pain...
