My boyfriend and I loved this shop! We came here because an employee from another place, Heroes Hideout, directed us to go here since they didnāt have any Jap product that my bf was looking for. We immediately loved how HUGE this place was as we are used to small shops and being crammed with a bunch of other people, so it was nice to have so much space! We looked through a lot of binders along with their cases and since it was the last stop we didnāt find much of what we were looking for except one Eng card for me and almost ten Jap cards for my bf. What made my entire day was the fact that they had a LOT of top loader binders in stock. Around the Houston area youād think weāre facing a national shortage because of how no shop carries them or ever has any in stock. I asked to see a couple and after some contemplating I picked the larger one for only $35! Iām still so giddy about it, I canāt express my gratitude enough to them for carrying them. Hopefully the quality is good lol if not then Iāll definitely update this review.
Other than that, it was a wonderful time and when we visit San Antonio again weāll for sure stop by! My ONLY complaint is that imo they need to work on their quality controlā there were more cards I wanted for myself but ultimately passed on because they were either very off-centered or frayed on the edges or just generally damaged some how. If they carried more NM-condition stock, I know we would for sure drop a lot more money. My bf threw in that they should try to carry some more Jap singles! My honest rating would be a 4.5 (again because of general card condition) but them having top loader binders, and not to mention excellent prices and being super friendly, skyrocketed the rating to a quick 5 haha! We both highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to this store yesterday to browse the selection and it was my first time going to this game store. I had originally attempted to go to different stores however one was closed. The other needs better ventilation to avoid disintegrating my nose hairs from all the fermented smells of a tournament.
This store is has a welcoming vibe, it has two counters, one closer to the door and, the other towards the back. It was busier than I expected and, the store is long by size. Tables in the far end with televisions showing anime/movies. This store holds a variety of merchandise video games, various tcg cards, and other random assortment of goods as marketed.
The vibes themselves kept me from leaving and I ended up spending a good amount of money on a couple of precons. One of the employees mentioned hosting magic tournaments in the near future. The staff were friendly, answered questions, and provided recommendations for different types of tcgs.
Although I left with an emptier wallet, the atmosphere and people will have me continuing my support for this store. At this point of time I have no negative input for this location and I will recommend to "friends...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday wasn't a great day to be a retro game customer, I bought a few games for some friends and family as gifts and two out of five games I purchased didn't work properly. I was told by my cousin that the games were in very poor condition and that it would barely start up before getting a error from the disc because of how scratch they were. I tried talking with a employee about my purchase, they looked at the disc and told me that it looks like the games should work I explained what happened while my cousin tried playing it but was given the run around about returning the games that I had that didn't work... After waiting for twenty minutes I was then told that I wouldn't be able to get my cash back and that I could only get it in store credit or pick something that's equal of value. Which was very discouraging to hear because I had already browsed through their selection and couldn't find anything else that they would like. I just wanted my money for the broken product that I was sold. I was very disappointed with their customer service won't recommend buying retro...
