Mikara Cafe — Restaurant in San Diego

Update 7/3/25: I recently returned to Mikara Cafe and had the Iced Pistachio Latte and their Peanut Butter Banana Toast and they were delicious.

The pistachio Latte was one of the best I have had in San Diego! It's not a surprise since they use a real pistachio powder, not those flavored syrups, and real chopped pistachios in the beverage. It is delicious and you get that terrific pistachio flavor right up front, followed by the espresso, and then the rest of the ingredients. It's a great Pistachio Latte available hot or cold.

The peanut butter banana and nutella toast was bliss. It came on a toasted square sourdough slice topped with quality peanut butter, freshly sliced banana wedges, a generous drizzle of Nutella, and crushed peanuts for a garnish and texture. This toast was wonderful. I would certainly order it again.

The quality of the products coming out of Mikara Cafe are outstanding, not to mention delicious. I do recommend it. There's plenty of parking available. ----‐---------------‐--‐-------------------------------- This is a very nice new coffee shop in Grantville. I enjoyed a cortado and avocado toast on sourdough.

The cortado was good up front but was a little bitter towards the end. It was well made with the ration being on point. I was very pleased that it was served on a Gibraltar glass.

The avocado toast was very good. I liked the simplicity of it. It came with freshly sliced avocado. sea salt, crushed black pepper, arugula, and a drizzle of balsamic. It was very tasty.

Second day in a row stopping by here. The owner Marcus is such a wonderful person and all of his employees are just as wonderful. Everyone is very kind and helpful. I had my hands full yesterday when I was leaving and Marcus offered to help me bring everything to the car. Today they offered me a taste of their new Ube matcha, fabulous flavor. On the topic of great service and kindness, yesterday they could have easily just told me they were out of pineapple for my pineapple smoothie, but instead Marcus ran to the store to pick one up so they could make it for me. That is above and beyond great service. Yesterday I got a regular acai bowl with a smoothie (special) acai was great (only downside- granola was tasty, just wish it didn’t have raisins in it) perfect amount of fruit to acai and granola ratio, pineapple smoothie was wonderful, also got two pastries one jalapeño and sausage and the other black olive both good and the strawberry matcha which was wonderful. Came back again today after my fitness class and got an other strawberry matcha and their ube matcha. Both so good. I’ll be stopping in after...

Demi Cafe is one of the TOP places on my list to grab a breakfast, lunch, coffee or smoothy - all organic, in the Mission Valley, Mission Gorge. Allied Gardens area. The owner Michal is extremely friendly with outstanding service. He's also a dog lover for those of you with pups. The variety of organic and European style dishes at Demi Cafe are a huge plus. The Acai bowls & Croissants are some of my favorites there among many other great dishes. Michal will cater to your requests. And he is so personable.
