After having gone to my last salon for the last five years, because I moved to the area, I decided to try this new place. It’s in the shopping center where Vons is on mango Street at Delmar Heights Road. In that shopping center where there is a CVS.
So I got an appointment and I went in, and I wasn’t overwhelmed with the place. I didn’t think it was the best place I’d ever seen or the most glamorous or even anywhere near as nice as the place I’ve gone for the last five years, but I made an appointment and I was there so I sat down And it seemed the whole process took off without even really saying hello. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like the place I normally go where they serve champagne and snacks and coffee and tea and water and candy, but the thing is, this lady Jenni did an amazing job. She also finished 30 minutes faster than where I normally go. The fact that it’s closer and that she did such a great job And it’s closer to my home, well it’s a win for me.
As sad as it is for me to say goodbye to my other beautiful, fabulous, wonderful place, with a technician that I really enjoyed visiting, at this salon, it seems that people speak English a lot better and they’re able to complete the services in a much more expedient timeframe. That will keep me coming back to Jenny for the foreseeable future.
I’m sure that in the Delmar area there are plenty of really great nail salons, and I think that with a competition that’s keeping people on their toes. There may be better fancy or swanky or or even faster salons in Del Mar, but I feel like blue sky nails is a good place for me. I feel like I found a really good new nail spa and I’m really grateful for that.
I think they also do nail art, but I didn’t have any so I’m not sure but they seem to be doing just about everything with other customers sitting to my left and right.
I would make a recommendation that they got places for someone to hook their purse. That was a little awkward. Other than that, it was a great experience and I was...
Read moreThis was my second time here and I don’t think I’ll be back. The quality of the gel manicure was great, but the salon scheduling is disorganized. I made an appointment the day before with Sean. He did my previous manicure and although expensive, I was happy with the results. When making my most recent appointment I told him my name 3 times because he seemed distracted while speaking to me. I showed up to my appointment the next day and they were very busy. Sean greeted me while he was working on another customer’s nails. I told him I was there for my appointment with him and he immediately darted his eyes at another lady that was waiting. He said that he didn’t see an appointment for me. I assume that the lady that was waiting was there for him. He told me to please wait while he finished his current customer. After he finished he came and sat next to me and explained that he must’ve gotten my name wrong. I told him that I told him my name 3 times. He apologized and asked if Mia could do my removal, cuticles and prep and then he’d come over and finish it. I said okay. He was working 2 chairs away with no one in between us having a clear view of where Mia was in her process with me. He never even checked in or attempted to come and see if I was ready for polish. He glanced over several times while she did my complete gel manicure and said nothing. Mia did a great job and if I wasn’t so disappointed in Sean saying one thing and doing another I’d return in the future. And for whatever reason I see this has happened before in other reviews at this salon, no massage on my second visit. So my advice, for anyone that books Sean, be sure to call and confirm your appointment before going in. He seems very overwhelmed and disorganized. His work is wonderful if you can actually get in to see him and if he honors the time he...
Read moreNO STARS FOR YOU. I am extremely unhappy about my experience today. I've been to this location once before with good results so I brought a friend today for full gel mani/pedi. My friend also wanted the additional callus scrub. The place was in disarray. My toes were done well. My friend however, asked for scrub and gel and received only a painting (regular polish) no massage performed on either one of us, no scrub for my friend. When she mentioned the lack of service requested, the two employees claimed they did it. They didn't... The claim as to why the polish was not gel was that the employee didn't understand English. My finger nails were done by a gentleman who DID NOT know how to give a manicure or do gel, no cuticles were trimmed (on either one of us, probably a good thing), the filing tool was on high and he made my nails very thin. I repeatedly asked him not to go over my nails w/too much filing, but he did not listen. He was up and down, talking to staff, helping clean tubs and in between his service to others, attempted to do my nails. I do not have the time to go into detail about this very very bad service I received, but I will say, as I calmly told the gentleman of my discontent- he blame shifted to me and my friend and claimed that he knew what he was doing, that everyone has their own way, which is not the case. I will never go back because of this treatment, and poor service, they made us feel awful. We regret going, and our nails look horrible. No...
