First of all, the ship we wanted to sail upon sailed away 15 min early so the two of us could not even board the tour we intended to sail on. So we waited an hour, and got some food nearby to-go and took it with us. When we tried to board, we were refused. Why? The company wants you to buy THEIR food. That said, I'd have been perfectly fine keeping everything boxed and waiting to eat my food after the cruise. But with no lockers or consideration offered for our situation, we were denied boarding. This is in no way for any sort of health or security reasons, the company just wants more money. This is probably industry standard and its simply unreasonable greed. Just because everyone does it - does not make it better. You'd think that if I am willing to pay to board your almost entirely empty ship, you should accept enthusiastically and allow me to bring anything I want aboard, within reason. If you actually provide decent customer service maybe I'll buy drinks, souvenirs, or tip the crew. Had I not bought the outside food, I still would not have bought any food aboard, its just a cash grab. And at this point, I will NEVER cruise with Hornblower again. The employees at boarding were patronizing when searching my bag & speaking loudly as if to try to embarrass me - as if I had committed a crime. Pretty sad. The company is lucky my cruise ticket was part of the 'Go San Diego' pass, because if I had paid directly, they'd have a credit card chargeback ripping that ill-gained cash right back out of their hands. Also -- to the company response that is sure to come, until you remove policy banning outside food and don't mistreat visitors who attempt to do so, there is no explanation nor remediation that I would find acceptable. It doesn't matter HOW this policy is communicated or enforced - the entire thing should not EXIST. Your visitors should be permitted to bring aboard food. To any guests who go on this cruise: eat before, go aboard hungry and endure it, or prepare to pay ripoff prices aboard. You could also try hiding the food in your clothes since bringing food is apparently akin to smuggling drugs with this cruiseline. Good luck!...
ย ย ย Read moreThe go card must modify the information of this cruise. The Cruise is not available if you don't make an appointment in advance. Cruise schedule every day at liberty to change and, even Cruise runs on schedule of his employees don't know. Our family went to ride a cruise today. There is running at five thirty in the summer cruise in the go card website and that there was no need to make a reservation. We arrived after driving an hour and went parking fees to pay $ 6. However, Cruise does not have at 5:30 today. Not only us but also other people came to take a five-thirty cruise with cards. In addition, there was no response to Cruise's failure to sail as scheduled, and it was very unkind, just to go. For us who wasted an hour and lost up to six dollars in parking, they had no apology or consolation! Very confident about what they are not schedule to keep their promise. Rather make a reservation, and said he should come to us. The cruise company such as whale watching cruise. On Friday, the whale watching cruise is scheduled to make a reservation that, but I feel so bad. This cruise must come calling in advance to ride. They have no responsibility for an appointment schedule, and the company that runs own way. They blatantly said to contact the go card, if you want to complain to me. And she held out their terms and conditions written small. If you want to take a cruise you must call or book in advance. Otherwise, they brazenly canceled ship with a smile to say in front of the ticket booth! And you can never get a refund for your expensive parking fee and your time. If you have not booked this cruise, I strongly recommend you visit another tourist spot.

ย ย ย Read moreThis company cancelled our cruise less than 24 hours before cruise time. We drove all the way to San Diego and received a notification right before we checked into our hotel. This was supposed to be a birthday present for my husband who has been wanting to do this for many years. He has mobility issues, so we researched this and found it to be the best option for him. After getting the notification, I called them directly and asked if they could place us on any of their other excursions in the next 3 days. They said "no". We could only get a refund or reschedule for a future date. We were out our hotel charges and time off work. We saw their Hornblower boats the next day out cruising. I cannot believe they could not do better for us. And they would not recommend any other tours for us.
Response to your reply: I appreciate your response regarding my review of your City Cruise product. I reached out to a member of your team with the information they needed and was issued a reply that there were operational issues that was out of their control. Their offer of 15% discount on the next tour I book with them fell upon deaf ears. It is a grossly inadequate offer considering what I spent to come there for that tour. I needed their assistance at the instant they cancelled, not some time in the future. A 15% discount would amount to a whole $18 which would buy me 3 1/2 gallons of gas which will not get me even close to California. I would not take the chance of rebooking, driving to San Diego, booking a hotel and hoping you did not...
