If I could rate this company less than a 1, I would do so. I followed all online specifications to book my Point Loma tour. Upon arrival, there was no parking. They advised we park in the garage 4 blocks away for $15. Upon arrival after parking and walking, we watched a 6-10 min video. When the video ended, he handed us a map for the downtown tour, not the Point Loma tour. I advised that we purchased the Point Loma tour, not the downtown tour at which point he advised that the We could not do the Point Loma tour because we did not have enough time. Road closures and detours would prevent us from being able to complete the tour by 6p and every minute after 6p was an additional charge. We advised that we would not pay additional charges and asked why we were allowed to book the tour if it could not be completed in time. We were advised that we could still take the tour but we would have to cut out major pieces of the tour, including the monument, because the monument was already closed for the day. The monument was one of the key reasons we selected the tour. He advised that the monument was closed every day before the 2:45p tour reached it. So I asked why I was sold a tour that knowingly could not be fully completed and requested a refund. He refused to refund me or give me his manager’s name...because releasing employee names was against CA law. He promised me a call back from his manager. About 30 min later I received a call from the same man claiming to be his manager. He changed his story several times from when I had been with him. When I called him on the change of story, he advised that he had just listened to the security recording and nothing had changed. So I told him that we could listen to the security tape together and I would come back right away because I was only 5 min away. He then claimed that we couldn’t do that because he had to get access to the tapes....the same tapes he claimed to have just listened to. My call ended with no resolution and no refund and I will now be pursuing other avenues for a refund. I would not recommend this company for any tour. If you choose to book anyway, go directly into the store and be VERY clear about what you are booking before making...
Read moreWe rented two scooters. The moment we arrived they tried repeatedly to upgrade us to another option that we didn't want, which was a little off-putting.
The scooters were great! They have fat tires which made them easy to ride after getting used to them. It was a busy Memorial Day weekend so the streets were busy so we had to careful. The scooters have a mobile phone attached with GPS and a JBL speaker with a verbal guide, which was really great. The guide kept us on our route and explained landmarks as we passed them. Great touch.
They offer two tours of the city. We got to see a lot of San Diego in two hours including old town, little Italy, the marina with the cruise ships and war ships, the Gaslamp quarter, down town and Balboa park.
One of our scooters slowly started losing power about 3 quarters into the ride. By the end it could barely make it up the last slight hill and it completely died 2 blocks from returning it.
Upon return, the guy that checked our scooters accused us of going off the course as the reason the battery died. We didn't go off course so the accusation was not well received. He back pedaled his tone and explained that sometimes they get bad batteries. Had he started with the bad battery rap instead of accusing us of doing something we didn't I would have given them 4 or 5 stars because it was a really fun excursion. But customer service is a big part of the experience and their team left us with an unfortunate and unnecessary...
Read moreI recently rented a Vanderhall from GoCar San Diego, and it was hands-down one of the most exciting and unique ways to explore the city! From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth, fun, and incredibly memorable.
The staff at GoCar were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole process easy and stress-free. They walked me through everything I needed to know about the Vanderhall and made sure I was comfortable before hitting the road. The car itself? Absolutely amazing — sleek, powerful, and a total head-turner. Driving it along the coast and through the city streets was an absolute blast.
The GPS-guided tour feature was a nice bonus. It gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace while still learning cool facts about the sights we were passing. Whether you're a local looking for a fun day out or a visitor wanting a one-of-a-kind way to see San Diego, I can’t recommend GoCar enough.
If you're thinking about renting something unique and unforgettable, go for the Vanderhall — and definitely do it with GoCar. You...
