Hair Drezzers On Fire — Attraction in San Diego

I don't know why the heck I have not already written a review for Hair Drezzers?! I have been getting my hair done by Tori for over 4 years. I remember looking at the website way back then and wondering if I was hip enough to get my hair done there..? I was a soccer mom after all, and had not gotten my hair worked on in YEARS. My first visit was right as I was ending a crappy relationship and asked Tori to cut off my waist length hair. CUT IT ALL OFF, was my request. She talked to me for quite a while to make sure it is REALLY what I wanted to do, and after I convinced her that I was ready to let it go- CHOP. It was gone. I loved it. I fell in love with her, and the shop :) Since then I have not been the greatest client. I should be in more often then I am, but each time I come in Tori works her magic without making me feel like I have let my crazy hair go for too long. lol! (oh, and I must mention that I have a big head, and A LOT of hair!) Most of the time I just tell her to do whatever she wants; I trust her. I have had it lightened, darkened, redder, blonder, browner, short, not too short, straightened, curled... and I have always leave happy. From the time you walk in and Xia greets you at the counter, to Norman offering you a beverage, through your entire visit, everyone is friendly, down-to-earth, and they all make you feel beautiful :) The shop is modern, well decorated, has nice lighting, and comfortable... (The only thing I wish is that they offered more affordable products. While I do LOVE Bumble and Bumble, it is just a bit too pricey for...

I called to make an appointment at Hair Drezzers on Fire and asked the receptionist to place me with someone who was good at cutting short bobs. When I went in I waited almost a half hour after my appointment time for Lauren to come out and then learn that she did not do short hair. She told me that the receptionist was new and didn't know who did what. I was scheduled for highlights and a cut. I have always had my color done first but Lauren found another person to cut my hair before doing the color. Brittney cut my hair in a graduated bob and I thought it was short but after I got home I liked the cut. The only problem is that in the back the portion that is cut short (about an inch and a half up) is my natural hair color and the remainder is the color of the lowlights. It does not match. When I called to see if something could be done Lauren said that with highlights or lowlights if it was cut short it would not match, The bottom would be my natural color, If I had known that I never would have gotten the short haircut. We were looking through pictures of bob haircuts and not one of them (including the short ones) looked like the back of mine. They were cut short and the colors were the same. The manager and Lauren told me that there is nothing they can do so I am stuck letting it grow out. Very confusing from the start - a lot going on - and it was unnecessary because when I called I asked for exactly what I wanted - someone who could cut a short bob. I won't go back and have started to tell my friends to spread the word...

Update 2025: I procrastinated on making an appointment for a haircut so I called Hair Drezzers and asked for anyone who was available. I was nervous because I’m such a huge fan of the way Maggie cuts my hair but I am so happy I took the risk with someone new, Mairena. MAIRENA is AMAZING. I asked her so many questions about how to embrace my wavy hair and how I can put a little more effort into styling with product and a diffuser. She gave me so many excellent tips/tricks and had a unique way of cutting my hair so the waves were more defined. I’ve been getting SO MANY COMPLIMENTS. Yesterday I just didn’t have time to diffuse my hair so I added product, scrunched and just let my hair air dry. I couldn’t believe how amazing my hair looked! That was definitely not the case before I went to Mairena. I am literally so stoked about this hair cut. 10/10 recommend!

2022: Maggie is the absolute BEST. Seriously the best haircut I have EVER had. I never wear my hair down and rarely like my haircut after I go to a salon (totally my fault) but wow! I was so excited after leaving this salon. I am literally the worst customer when it comes to cutting my hair. My only requirements are 1) thin my hair out (it's way too thick) 2) I do not like styling 3) do whatever you think is best for my facial structure. Let me tell you all, Maggie came through! I get a million compliments and for the first time in my 30+ years of life I am wearing my hair down. Def will be going back here for as long as Maggie...
