Be prepare! even if they say base on donation appreciate but the lady who work there ask us for $2 as the minimum. in my opinion, if they expect to earn money for their service just clearly write it down on the sign. As a visitor, we prefer to get better welcoming treat. 如果要收钱,就应该写清楚,不要强迫。

We came for the Lunar New Year celebration. It was a great time to celebrate the new year and we enjoyed the shows. The mayor of San Diego and councilman also came to support the event. It was crowded and the vendors had long lines. The lion dancing and other shows were wonderful!

We went to the house of China and oh my goodness was the Asian lady this past Saturday 10/19/24 so rude to everyone coming in. The lady in front of us asked for two dumplings and the Asian lady told her she needed to give a donation which she did of course, and did it through Venmo. I believe or PayPal. Then another couple went in and also told him they needed to give a donation very rudely. Then it was my turn and said I needed to give a donation of $10 for 10 dumplings. Which I did not have a problem with what I had a problem with her HORRIBLE attitude, asking everyone for money when the sign clearly says donation. Just to let everyone know it’s $1 dollar per dumpling. They do charge one dollar per dumpling. I wish they would tell everyone, and not just have a donation sign confusing everyone and then having an attitude when they don’t give a dollar donation per dumpling....

The House of China was very informative and had a lot of items on display for the small amount of space provided. The items and information they put on display gives visitors a good understanding of certain aspects of Chinese culture. The guide was also knowledgeable and friendly. I do feel I stumbled across the international houses and had no idea they were at Balboa. They should definitely put the word out more on these houses so more...

Such good people...Get your name in calligrafy, treats for sale, history, maps, cultural items. Smaller house, but BIG Heart! This year's Year of The Tiger Celebration was very nice! It was a very busy Balboa Park day, yet very comfortable in park space in front of Cottages, with stage, and seating, and a few tables. Lots of extra Asian food vendors, couple of...
