This is not a boutique hotel. This is essentially a rooming house turned airbnb. If i wanted a airbnb I would have booked one. There is no 24/7 front desk, there is no cleaning service. There is no Kleenex, bar soap, shower cap or anything that comes standard in a hotel. There is no deadbolt on the door and no safe in the room. There is no desk and chair as posted on the website nor is there attraction discounts or an ice maker. The room is very small and there is no surface to place your items other than the floor. There are no chairs and the only place to sit is the bed which I found uncomfortable. You are emailed the front door code and your room code from a sketchy email. There is what looks like a condo being built across the street so for the next year expect dust, loud jackhammering, crane beeping, nail guns starting very early. The shower is extremely small, takes forever to heat up and is a generally unpleasant and unclean space to be in. Upon check in we realized the conditioner container had no lid on it so the shower was emptying directly into it. When emailing asking for a cover I had to follow up three times to only be told it was cracked and a replacement part was coming but not until after checkout. The location is not accessible there is a staircase to get up to the front door and second floor. The location is fine in Cortez hill but I wouldn’t recommend staying, just book an airbnb...

Where did other stars go?
The place is FAR SMALLER than what you see in pix. There are not enough spaces to put down anything. No table, just a small drawer. Nowhere to sit inside of the room besides the bed.
Wall is thin. There was a baby on the other room and kept crying as loud as the baby can. I did not raise the concern because I understand it's not easy to be a parent and I sucked it up, but letting you know the wall is THIN and there were constant noises.
Bed is plushy and you will sink. We did not have a good sleep during our weekend getaway and this ruined some of our experience. Budget trip sucks– blaming self to not make stupid money to stay somewhere fancier.
Wifi does not work well– or should I say at all? In today's world, this is no excuse. Talked to the customer rep and was not solved.
The hotel does not accept American Express.
Street/meter parking was easy and if you download Park Smarter app, it's far less hassle.
I will not be back. This was a horrendous experience and now my girlfriend hates to be in SD...
Read moreThe place misrepresented the room on airbnb, then reneged on a partial refund we agreed on at weekday rate instead of weekend, which I had to work with airbnb to resolve. The floors were dirty and my feet were covered with crumbs after 10 seconds of walking around without my socks before bed, the bed was a standard and not a queen, and there were no trashcans in the bathrooms, shared by about 20 rooms, which is a major health-code violation. The mattress was also the cheapest, most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. I had to massage my legs in the middle of the night to make it through. The manager, Brian, then groveled about me not posting a negative review on airbnb, which through the delay on the refund he avoided b/c I am now outside the review period. I stay in airbnb often, and this was my first poor experience. Avoid...
