Plain and simple, I give Dr. Jared Lien an A++. I was in a deep hole, and he helped me out after 1 visit. I highly recommend him and his methods.
About 5 weeks ago I hobbled in to see Dr. Lien for the first time. The Baker's cyst behind my left knee had become very inflamed. In fact, the entire area around my knee had swollen up and I couldn't even see my knee bones anymore. I am an active person and could tell that I needed professional help.
Before my appointment, I wasn't sure where to go or what to do because my last trips to see Western doctors for my knee only ended up in unsuccessful treatments. However, I suddenly remembered that when my mom was alive, she used to recommend acupuncture - and she lived into her 90's! Her acupuncturist had long since retired, so I decided to check online and found Dr. Lien and made an appointment ASAP. When I arrived, I sat in a comfortable chair and saw a small figurine that read, "Be brave." He asked me some questions, tested my knee out, and began my 30-minute treatment. I was kind of jumpy wondering if the treatment might be painful when suddenly I realized that he had already stuck me with quite a few needles, and I was practically done! Then, he put a very nice heat lamp above my knee and gave me a buzzer in case I needed someone to come back and check on me. I began to relax and to heal as beautiful music played. At the end of the session, I could see my knee bones for the first time in several days!
Dr. Lien recommended that I change my diet to combat inflammation. He also gave me an herbal supplement and some exercises. I was able to follow through with his advice and I repeated my weekly visits for about a month. There was "ebb and flow" in my continued progress, but I continued to heal, to walk without a limp, take the stairs up and down normally, and I have been able to run my 2-mile loop up Laurel hill since my 2nd visit.
There is more - he treated me for stress and especially for the grief that came over me after losing some very dear loved ones. After the treatments, I am now feeling just as close to them, but a new state of contentment has come over me. I am feeling more ambitious and excited about life.
I am very, very grateful to have found this wonderful doctor! Thank you so much, Dr....
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews but I decided to write one to share my experience at Lien on me acupuncture. I’ve had 3 different acupuncturists before I finally found the place I was looking for! Jared is amazing and super nice! His experience working as a medical professional at the hospital makes a huge difference! He’s very knowledgeable about the body and overall wellness! It was noticeable from my very first visit! During my acupuncture sessions, he usually locates these sore spots on my hands and feet and uses needles in those spots. I don’t know how he does this! He definitely has a different approach in treating his patients than any other acupuncturist I previously had. He also uses Gua-sha stone, coping, and many other treatment methods. He uses needles on my back, all along the spine, which has important pressure points that are connected to our main organs. I had come to his office in pain many times, specifically with the lower back pain and soreness after workout and I always leave his office feeling relieved and pain free! His method of treatment makes a huge difference! I’ve been diagnosed with a chronic bronchitis and COPD and had a constant cough. I’ve tried all kinds of vitamins medications, inhalers and nothing helped to get rid of that annoying cough! At my first visit, Jared placed a needle in the middle of my chest and immediately I could breath much better and felt relieved! It truly felt like a miracle! After that visit my cough started slowly decreasing and as he continues to treat me, I’m now almost free of cough. I’m very thankful that I found this place! If you’re looking for an experienced acupuncturist who’s an expert in what he does, I strongly recommend...
Read moreI was suffering from a strained back muscle for months. I was at a loss of what to do, and daily ibuprofen was becoming the norm for me. As a last ditch effort I scheduled an appointment at Lien On Me Acupuncture. A coworker/friend of mine who saw him for stress and insomnia spoke very highly of Jared who she said cured her of her severe insomnia.
In all honestly, I was skeptical of how well acupuncture would actually help me. Fast forward to today, I’m here to tell you it works! Jared gave me a treatment that lasted about an hour. He asked if there was anything else that was bothering me besides my back pain, and I said “maybe I’m a little stressed about work” (I’m an RN and the job can be brutal on the mind and body). Jared gave me a treatment that involves putting one of the needles in the cartilage of my ear. I left his office feeling more relaxed than ever and this lasted for several days. I am truly amazed at how well it worked. In addition, it has been over a month and I have had ZERO back pain— true story.
Jared gave me some exercises to do at home, which I have been doing for maintenance. Jared saved me from having to visit my primary care MD who would probably only prescribe medications that only mask the problem.
If you are on the fence about trying acupuncture like I was, try to go in with an open mind. There is very little risk and I don’t know of any negative side effects, unlike so many of our Western medicine modalities. At the very least you will leave feeling refreshed...
