Yesterday, I stopped by Coffee Cycle (the new OB location 4856 Voltaire between Cable and Sunset Cliffs Blvd) for the first time, and it was an experience that completely exceeded my expectations. My opinion, many coffee shops can feel a bit unwelcoming on a first visit, with a “too cool for school” vibe, but Coffee Cycle was refreshingly the opposite. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. It also helped that the shop was playing Wu-Tang, and Jordan, the friendly barista behind the counter, greeted me right away with a smile and exceptional service. I was in the mood to try a late breakfast (at 1:30 PM 😁), and Jordan recommended “OB’s Best Breakfast Sandwich,” a new creation by Chris, the owner. This sandwich was next-level deliciousness and made with thick, local sourdough bread, smoked pork belly, chipotle sauce, pepper jack cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg. Every bite was a blend of bold, rich flavors and left me completely satisfied. This sandwich is super legit!! Highly recommend. It left me already looking forward to my next return visit. Then for mental energy, I paired the sandwich with a honey cinnamon iced latte. This drink was made with cinnamon, local raw honey, housemade cashew, macadamia milk, and espresso. It was smooth, lightly sweet, and energizing. It complemented the sandwich well. The extra welcoming vibe came from Jordan, who after I put in my order then took the time to share the history of Coffee Cycle, how it got started and explained how they source all their beans from around the world, and roast them right there in the shop. Her passion for the craft was contagious actually making me want to learn more about the process behind the coffee, which made the experience feel personal and unique. Now I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the menu and also hangout to do a little work in their large open space. If you haven’t stopped by yet, I highly recommend checking out this spot as it’s the ïżŒperfect fit for OB.

Service deserves 100 stars. The best coffee I have ever experienced. A global cup with a local heart. From the moment you walk into this cafĂ©, the aroma of freshly roasted beans wraps around you like a warm embrace; much like the embrace from the incredible owner, Chris. It’s not just another coffee stop—it’s an experience, a celebration of craftsmanship, and a testament to ethical sourcing done right. What makes this place truly special is its dedication to coffee that tells a story. They have always, since day 1, sourced beans directly from small-scale farmers in developing regions—producers whose skill, care, and labor are often overlooked in the global coffee market. Now, with in-house roasting, the cafĂ© brings those origins to life in every cup. The result? Coffee that’s not only fresher and more flavorful than ever, but deeply connected to the hands that cultivated it. Each roast reveals remarkable depth: nutty, chocolatey tones in one cup, bright citrus and florals in another—balanced perfectly by expert roasting right on-site. You can even watch the process, hear the gentle hum of the roaster, and smell the beans transforming—an immersive, sensory delight. Beyond the taste, there’s heart here. By sourcing responsibly and roasting locally, this cafĂ© isn’t just brewing coffee—it’s building bridges, supporting fair wages, and investing in the people behind every bean. Whether you’re a casual sipper or a true coffee connoisseur, this spot reminds you what coffee can and should be: global, ethical, and absolutely delicious.

I ordered: Iced "surprise me" which turned out to be the pumpkin spice! Was soooo good. Lots of places will over sweeten the pumpkin or add too many spices, this was just the right amount of sweet and spice with pumpkin blend. YOU HAVE TO TRY IT! Bacon Burrito! Made fresh to order and you can tell it's made with love. Chris helped me pick out my drinks and food and the conversation and atmosphere of this coffee shop is a must see. I drive past it everyday always saying I NEED TO STOP and I'm so glad I did! I will definitely be back to try all of the special drinks and concoctions they have on the menu. The coffee cart, art and conversation here can't be found anywhere else. Very authentic and worth the money/time spent here. Thank you Chris and fellow coffee goers for helping me start my morning out right! See you again soon ☕
