Point Medanos Jetty — Attraction in San Diego

Point Medanos Jetty is a beautiful spot in Mission Beach, with waves that seem to call out to surfers—just not all surfers. The local crowd here is highly protective of their break, and they’ve made it clear that outsiders are not exactly welcome. If you’re not part of the inner circle, expect some cold stares and plenty of territorial vibes. This is most certainly one of my favorite spots in San Diego. With good shoes, some confidence, a bit of agility, and secure pockets/bags to hold your belongings (beware!!! phones do fall!!!!), walking the Jetty rocks at low tide and/or sunset is one of the most beautiful place for pictures and fun. I would estimate it takes around 15 minutes to reach the middle “hut” of graffiti and around 35 to reach the very end, but pace is important and varies with weather and gear. Overall...
