I really love that song Lazy Eye by Silversun Pickups. In fact, I had a friend with a lazy eye back in the early days of yore when I was attending boarding school with other kids who were sent there. His situation didn't stop him at all from doing all the things he really loved to do. He was just one of the guys who enjoyed life. We would sometimes eat in the cafeteria together. I loved pizza night, and the kid with the lazy eye loved meatloaf night. Or maybe it was the other way around. I know that his parents asked that he didn't play baseball. They were pretty clear about that. He also had to blow into one of those devices when he wanted to start his car. We could never figure out if that was because of his lazy eye or because he had just gotten his second DUI right after summer vacation. Either way, we would always blow into the ignition device for him so he could drive home after a fun day tailgating for the prep school crew team. I don't remember him being a huge coffee drinker, but he loved iced tea with non-dairy creamer stirred in. His parents were reputable chefs, so we assumed he knew what he was doing. I once went home with him during Thanksgiving break. We had to take the bus because he wasn't allowed to...
Read moreLazy Eye is more than my favorite coffee spot, it’s a cherished part of my day, a place where quality and care are in every detail. Tucked away as a kiosk, it's the quality that pulls you in—the staff here are genuinely friendly, making everyone who visits feel welcomed. The pastries hit the spot every time and something for everyone (gluten free donuts!), and the homemade syrups offer something uniquely flavorful that you just can't find elsewhere. You’ll have to look at the menu or better yet go experience it to know what I mean. You can also bring your pup, the sweet owner makes sure they have treats too! It's the kind of place where the coffee is consistently good, and the service comes with a genuine smile. Great coffee, the best people, Lazy Eye nails...
Read moreI was close to a Starbucks but opted for the smaller shop. I ordered a hot chai latte and an almond croissant. The Chai was very delicious with distinct spice flavoring which was excellent. The almond croissant was fresh and light. I wished it had more filling- I didn't confirm that it was supposed to have filling but there were plenty of almond slivers on top so I was satisfied. There was a short wait but the latte was made fresh so a wait is normal and expected. This location is in the beach area. There is a green curb right in front but it's probably best to walk up. No seating as this is a small walk up establishment for...
