On one side Bay on the other side Very beautifully landscaped How ever do not Go there until after the September 18as The Sea Camp is having Their snorkel Instruction camp 30+ Kids 6 instructors Who set up tents In a large Area near the only Bathroom The kids are constantly running in an out out the Bathroom screaming yelling shoving by Adults In supervised while the Instructors are on their phones And their their unsupervised in The rest rooms If you even look at one of the kids The Female counselor will confront you and Order you to stand Back And Imagine they don't want you to take pictures of Anything in their large Area I had informed them This is a public park and anyone can take pictures of anything their eyes can see It's a constitutional RIGHT !! You've got the channel on one side where the bay opens to the ocean, the protected calm water of Mission Bay on the other, and beach access to the ocean is adjacent. There is a small playground and a bathroom with showers. The parking lot is pretty small, but if you can get a spot, the walk to the bay side beach with a kayak or paddle board is pretty manageable. Heading towards the beach to the ocean with that much cargo doesn't seem like a great plan as there is a much larger parking lot near there. Getting into this area is a pain as you're confined to a single boulevard with single lanes in either direction with a lot of stops. Popularity of the space could make it hard to distance from people on the weekend, though it is limited by the parking situation and locals favor the west facing beach on the ocean where the larger parking lot is. Read moreGood beach, but experienced the worst act of selfishness in my entire life here. A few years ago in winter, my brother and I were diving at the jetty during the night. When we finished the dive we found out the car battery died, so my father called AAA. This was around 20 mins before the parking was closed; it would take around the same time for AAA to arrive. We were still soaking wet and very cold with no dry clothes to change into. When the park employee came to close the gate, my father explained our situation, but the employee refused to listen and told us no exceptions. He didn't want to wait five minutes.
