Read moreLoved this lake! I was not expecting this to be this much fun on a rainy day. Lots of great photo opportunities, lots of wildlife, beautiful sunsets. While following the winding path around the lake, each turn provided a new landscape, a new adventure with new light. The waterfall is on the lake!!! I really enjoyed all the bridges and changes in incline and texture on the paths. Even on a rainy day, it wasn't too muddy or slippery. I noticed there is wheelchair access and plenty of benches and resting areas for those that need them. There were a few way too cute couples strolling through... it's quite the romantic setting. Even though you are near roads for part of the walk, you don't hear the traffic... you almost forget you are in SF! Read moreGreat spot in Golden Gate Park for a relaxing paddle boat (or row boat) ride for an hour around the circle from the boathouse. It cost $30 per an hour for a paddle boat and $25 for a row boat.
There are a several crews working to help you get on and off a boat and life vests are provided.
No reservations as nobody will answer the phone. An hour ride was just perfect length to circle the lake.
The island in the middle is accessible from 2 bridges. Boaters are not allowed to get off the boat to explore the island.
The beautiful warm sunny Saturday at the lake was a perfect weather to enjoy. Even though most of the boats seemed to be in use around the lake, but didn’t feel crowded.
