Great 👍👍😃 lots to see &do.Many exhibits, there's a cafe very pricey, suggest you bring your own food and maybe just buy a drink there? This is located in Golden gate Park which in this whole area it's just absolutely beautiful the park has got many statues there's fountains there's a ferris wheel there there's a lot of park benches. Great for bike riding in the park. I mean you got the museums and the ferris wheel the park the tea garden. And if you like the people watch great place. With covid things have been kind of shut down if you're not vaccinated you can't get into the academy of science without proof of a recent covid test from a medical facility or a doctor's note stating you didn't have to have the vaccination. Children under 12 do not have to show proof of vaccination. I do believe this is going to be standard protocol go to their website they tell you this for those of you that are not vaccinated or chose not to bear this in mind if anyone in your party is not vaccinated they will not be allowed in. The DM Young museum does not have the same protocol you do have to wear a mask. being as I went on a weekday and it was summer it's still a little crowded but I still think that the weekends it's just probably three times more busy than what I experienced there on a weekday. So bear that in mind if...
Read moreMy husband and I went to see the Kehinde Wiley exhibition and can honestly say it is one of the best shows we have ever seen. The museum itself is phenomenal and has many offerings on every floor. The scale of this particular show was enormous and the lighting spectacularly done. There are plenty of places to sit as a viewer. My only complaint is that the audio tour was difficult to navigate. But this was in no way took away from the show’s sheer brilliance. We also popped down to see the DeYoung Open and while the quality of the work was wonderful it was a bit homogenous in sizing and it would’ve been nice to see some larger pieces given the power of the big works in the Wiley show. I love this gallery and often recommend to friends and...
Read moreOne of the best museums in the bay! A must see if you want to spend time with art! Exhibits range from realistic, surreal to abstract. They have artifacts from around the world and from many time periods. We were fortunate to see the Obama portraits on display - that in itself is worth the trip! Something for everyone! The museum is within the Golden Gate park and has other attractions to see as well! It’s close to the Japanese Gardens and the Academy of Science. On a weekend in summer they have live music outside the building at the music concourse. Plenty to see at the museum plus you could easily spend the whole day with the activities around it! Did I mention that there are even buffalos in...
