Cancel on you the day of your massage with less than 2 hours notice with fake excuses that the therapist is “sick”. Overpriced and overrated. $225 for a 90 minute massage which is actually 75-80 by the time they enter the room and leave so you can get dressed. If you don’t have the “package deal” it’s more expensive. No soap in the bathroom, which is disgusting. Receptionist tries to find more and is unsuccessful, so I had to rinse with just water. (This happened on more than one occasion). Play weird, techno, dance music while you’re trying to have a relaxing massage, but will switch back to ambient/new age music when the playlist shuffles over to the beginning. Noisy rooms, especially downstairs, where the break room and laundry room is. The entire time all you hear is walking back and forth and conversations. Very distracting and annoying. Upstairs is quieter. Can’t make an appointment on their website because it NEVER works so you have to call. Prices have increased considerably since a year ago so the price list is outdated. It’s a nice, clean spa though and it always smells good. 😊

Cocoon Day spa in San Francisco truly knows how to make guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive, starting with a warm greeting and a thoughtful offer of tea/ coconut water upon check-in. The serene ambiance sets the stage for relaxation, and the hydrafacial experience was notably professional and rejuvenating, leaving the skin refreshed and glowing. Highly recommended for anyone seeking both hospitality and top-notch skincare treatments right in the heart of the city.

Update: This spa is still great, I just want to add that my husband goes here as well and has had multiple massages with Marni. He said she’s THE BEST. The perfect day spa in SF. I’ve had various facials, massages and a pedicure here and they always provide a delightful experience. Professional, clean, reasonably priced and quiet. Basic amenities. Highly recommend Desirae for a facial.

Lovely space nestled in Noe Valley. They have great masseuses- Kristina and Chandra are two favorites. I have been there for nail services, spray tanning and brow lamination as well. I even got micro blading there today (great results). All very good services!

There are a couple areas for improvement:

  1. Their massage rooms upstairs aren’t soundproof - they’re in between the nail room and the front desk so you can hear people talking the whole time. I learned this week that some masseuses only work upstairs so it was suggested to me that I am going to have to change therapists (rather than just move me downstairs???) I usually request a room downstairs in advance but am sometimes met with annoyance and a bit of an attitude by the staff. I was disappointed in this response considering I’m a regular (I come at least 2x a month). I feel if you’re spending $200 on a massage you should have the option to be in a quiet room and not have to book a therapist based on which room they use.

  2. They offer great deals on packages and gift cards but it comes with confusion. I had to dig through my emails to show my receipt for $1000 gift card that should’ve been on my account today but they couldn’t find it. They also tried charging me $100 more than I was quoted for micro blading and again, I had to show a string of emails to prove what I was quoted. The communication between Staff and systems could be better.

  3. I love when they offer model discounts. When they are training new staff, you can receive a service for 50% off. However today, somebody was training during my micro blading session, and I found it a little unprofessional because I did not sign up to be a model. I wish I had been asked if this was...

I’ve been going to Cocoon Spa in Noe Valley for almost 9 months and can’t recommend them enough. I specifically only go for massages and with Romeo and started going when I was pregnant. I have been to many massage therapists over the years for chronic back pain from work and some are better than others. Romeo is the best by far. Extremely knowledgeable and experienced and has provided me with immense relief from pain throughout my pregnancy and now post-partum. He understands the body very well and everything he does is deliberate and custom to how he’s seeing your body respond. I owe a great deal of my health and mobility during the later stages of pregnancy to him and cannot recommend him enough to my pregnant friends. That being said, my session post partum was just as great and I leave each time looking forward to the next visit for continued relief. Highly, highly recommend.

While my massages with him are the reason I go back time and again, the spa itself is a pleasant experience start to finish. Friendly staff, very clean facility, relaxing, good products inventory (for facials), and easy online booking.

Update 3/28/25: I continue going to Cocoon for massages with Romeo and facials with Ellie. Both are super knowledgeable in their practices and not only deliver great quality treatment but also educate you on how to improve your conditions at home as well (and not just product pushing like many other spas). I am happy and always quickly to recommend Cocoon, and specially Romeo and Ellie, to all my friends and family as I know they will have good...

I had high hopes for the facials based on the glowing reviews, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite match the hype, especially for the price point.

To start, I was called earlier in the day and asked to come in ahead of my scheduled time, which I agreed to. However, I still wasn’t seen until a bit passed my original appointment time , which felt a bit disorganized. Throughout the visit, I was never acknowledged as a first-time client, and no one asked about my skin concerns or goals before beginning the facial. That lack of personalization stood out.

Midway through the facial, I spoke up to clarify that I had booked the HydraFacial specifically because it included extractions, and the response I got was a dry yes. The extraction step itself felt rushed and limited, mainly focused on the nose, with little attention to the rest of the face. Overall, the experience felt like they were trying to catch up on a tight schedule.

While my face looked hydrated afterward, it didn’t feel like a standout treatment, especially given the cost. The massage portion was okay, but nothing particularly memorable.

I’m sure others have had great experiences here, but this just...
