Covid-19 Review : La Boulangerie currently does not offer dine-in seating, however there are 4 picnic benches and a small table with 2 chairs set up on the sidewalk outside. The picnic benches are setup in the Sanchez St. side of the building, up the slight incline, where the wider sidewalk easily keeps you socially distanced from other walking on the sidewalk. The smaller table is on the 24th St. side of the building where the sidewalk is much narrower and pedestrians will be much closer to as they walk by. There is a sign us posted outside (and at the tables) with a code to scan for ordering from your mobile phone, or you can walk inside to order your food. There was no line inside when I went, however this was probably due to not being during the lunch rush. They currently offer a very limited menu so you may not be able to get your favorite dishes. I ordered a ham sandwich and my companion ordered a turkey sandwich. When we opened our bag, we discovered that what we received was a ham sandwich and a tuna sandwich. I didn't feel like going back inside the restaurant to point out their error. My companion didn't like tuna, so I gave her my ham sandwich and I ate the tuna sandwich. We both agreed that the sandwiches were delicious. Each sandwich was packaged in a clear plastic bag, with opening on one end of the sandwich. I liked this design as it made it easy to hold and eat the sandwich without getting our fingers dirty. As always, the baguette they use in their sandwiches was delicious. Hard on the outside crust, softer inside with a good chewyness. My tuna sandwich was quite good, even though I am indifferent to them (I can usually find something else I prefer to order). And my dining companion seemed satisfied with her ham sandwich. Access to the restroom inside was closed to the public. So it is not possible to go inside to wash your hands after eating, or to make a...

First, bear with me for a short history lesson: Starbucks bought La Boulange from French baker Pascal Rigo in 2012 and then, 3 years later, decided to shut down all 22 locations of La Boulange. Brutal, non? Rigo left his position at Starbucks and decided to reopen some cafes, this time calling them La Boulangerie de San Francisco. Now there are 8 in SF and one in the East Bay, near Rockridge Bart. I was at this Noe Valley branch a few months ago and really liked their Americano â I think they do good coffee (itâs from Equator in SF). Their soup was really good too, the avocado toast was OK and the pastries that Iâve tried so far were all good â especially the apple chausson (turnover), which doesnât look that special but was really good, warmed up. The pastry selection varies by location and this Noe branch had a larger selection than the Rockridge branch, but for the most tempting pastry selection of all, check out the Pine branch!
Iâm giving La Boulangerie 4/5 âgreen starsâ for social and environmental impact, based on this:
⢠Coffee, from Equator, is organic and fair trade. ⢠They make a fairly good effort to reduce waste â most items are eaten in-house with ceramics and metal utensils; Condiments like ketchup and mustard and jam come in a pot with a spoon rather than plastic sachets. ⢠A fairly high percentage of their food is plant-based. They make a vegan breakfast wrap using âJustâ vegan egg. ⢠Their regular eggs are cage-free, but pasture-raised would be more ideal. Not that they are common in cafĂŠs. ⢠They serve organic bread with soups and salads but could incorporate more organic ingredients. ⢠They could do a better job at providing info (on the menu, website, or in stores) on food sourcing.

Read moreI've been coming here off and on over the years and I always get a warm butter croissant I never knew it was a sin to only purchase one. Recently when I went into the location on 24th Street the lady was very rude to me and I thought it was maybe me the first time so I just brushed it off but upon returning today 11-19-2024 she was rude to me again it was like it was wrong that I only purchased two warm butter croissants I inquired about the French toast croissant and so she assumed that I was purchasing one of those as well and she got upset when she found out that I wasn't I only eat certain things it's nothing wrong with only purchasing what you want what you're going to eat I don't recommend that if you're black that you step foot in this location because I don't understand what it is how you can be so nice to people of your own Latin descent but when somebody else who's of darker skin comes along then there's a problem. I want witnessed her be very polite to the Latin couple who was in front of me who made their purchase they had lots of questions she didn't have a problem with helping them but I only purchased two croissants and it was a problem. I gave it to stars because it's always fresh although I am unhappy because my croissants are always still cold in the middle when I asked for a warm butter croissant but you can't be rude to your customers for no reason especially somebody spending their money it doesn't matter how much it is I'm not sure what their problem is as I said to her as I finish my purchase I will go all the way over on Page Street just to get a croissant or up in coal valley but I will not spend my money at this location again. Excuse the run-ons with no periods but I use voice to text and I don't feel...
