Haystack pizza — Restaurant in San Francisco

Stopped here for dinner after a full day all over SF. We were at Exploratorium in the morning, Urban Putt in the afternoon. One daughter lives in SF, one in Ssn Jose, and we were touring our former exchange daughter from Japan. ( She lived with us 2012-13, visited us for Christmas 2016, and this was her 3rd trip to SF). The five of us were celebrating that 2 of the girls were graduating from college, and the 3rd was finishing her MFA. We brought in a great bottle of wine for corkage and proceeded to have a perfectly relaxed, happy and tasty dinner: my Seafood Pasta in the Aurora sauce was lovely; the gluten-free/dairy-free girl said the steak and veggies were perfect; the vegetarian said the penne pasta was "yummy"; and the crab-stuffed mushrooms were worth having as your entree! So I’ve been to this place twice and both times they have not gotten my order right. The first time I ordered pepperoni and mushroom. I got home to find out they put sausage and mushroom. So we just took the sausage off and ate the pizza. Today I ordered the same thing and this time we opened the box there, just to see they just put mushroom and no pepperoni. When we told them they didn’t do it right they said it was an error on the computer but the receipt CLEARLY said mushroom and pepperoni. So they took the pizza back and just threw the pepperoni on top and put it in the oven for a minute. Lazy and unprofessional. There will not be a 3rd as I will not return to this...

My family and I love Haystack 🍕 and order delivery about 2x a month; I recommend the Popeye's. If I was reviewing only the food i'd likely give 5 🌟, as you get generous portions made the traditional way. My issue with Haystack is with the service. I made a reservation for my family over the holidays (12 people) for 630 and was seated 45 minutes late because the seemingly inexperienced host was unwilling to polietly tell the (drunk) party ahead of us that it was time to go. Once we were seated the waiter forgot two orders, stretching things out further. All who work there are likeable enough, but they need to better manage table service or stick...
