Pretty cool place. Really beautiful inside with a large, L-shaped bar. There's some sort of woke shrine with crystals and water fountains to your left. It's like if Rusted Root was a place this would be it. I was greeted by a glowing, attractive kava tender (?) who asked me if this was my first time there which I said yes and she said you get a free shell (like small coconut shell) of traditional kava which I was then told you drink like a shot. I wanted to get blitzed so I ordered the Hawaiian as well. She brought them over to me and told me to think good thoughts and insisted I say, "Bula!" loudly first before drinking which I, of course, did. I think it's the Polynesian equivalent of cheers. I heard her going over to other newbies for which she had the same spiel. Other people were already in the know there. I drank the traditional first. It tastes really bad so they give you pineapple chunks for chasers. You can feel a numbing sensation on your lips and mouth right away and start to get a nice, fuzzy feeling. I began on the Hawaii which you sip like a cocktail. It's delicious! It's got coconut milk and maybe mango in it. It's creamy and tastes like a fruity frozen drink minus the alcohol. The people all seemed really nice. It's definitely on the hippie, crunchy side. If that's your thing there's a health food next door. Overall, a great experience and would definitely go back if I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve heard of Kava and have been wanting to try it. Itās supposed to make you feel tranquil and relax though different people feel different things. We started with the traditional kava and then tried the pacific gold kava afterwards. The traditional one was really earth-y and they give you pineapple bites to chase the taste with. The pacific gold kava was a tad sweeter, but still really earth-y. We chilled in the back and just lounged around. I felt so tranquil that I felt sleep-y and ended up sleeping on my ride home after we left. When I woke up, I felt super energized.
Overall, I donāt know how youāre going to feel when you drink this, but itās a cool experience. I donāt know the exact hours, but on Sunday afternoon when we went, it was happy hour and it seemed like everything...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCool place to seriously chillax. Came for Kava & picked up an interesting read they had laying around. Easily spent two hours reading a book and sipping Kava Kava. Service seemed relaxed -could have been a little more attentive. As my first time here, I was waiting around and had to approach the people behind the counter to inquire about the teas. Then after that, I just kept coming up to the bar for rounds 2 & 3 mostly because I was sitting in the lounge area. Kava is not a tea most people will like but it's benefits are amazing. I had it to relax this muscle tension I was having for days and it helped tremendously. Great...
