Western Addition Branch Library — Attraction in San Francisco

I wanted to show my appreciation for the security officer that was working this afternoon. He played the role of customer service and circulation desk, and was just so nice and knowledgeable!

It was my first time using the SF Public Library system and went in to finish verifying my library card. The circulation desk was on a break so he told me to stick around for just ten minutes. After fifteen minutes had passed and no one showed, he went looking for her. She was also super nice and helpful and got me set up. But once I went to use my new card, my pin didn’t work the consecration desk was gone again and the security officer helped me out.

He really made my experience today....

I unfortunately have to give this library one star due to the over aggressive, security guard. when trying to check out a book the over aggressive police officer was very upset about my bike. it’s kind of sad that he gets paid a full commission. He gets to sit there and play on his computer all day long when there’s so many problems out in San Francisco that people need help with an a police officer can do a really good job with other than bully people at a library about their bicycle and play on...

The collection is decent and the building is nice, but I don't like hearing staff members yell at the public or talk about them like they can't hear the conversation. Also, I saw upper level staff (management) yelling at the lower level staff, and that can't be a nice work environment. As a library patron, I'd probably visit this branch.
