Not bad! It's extremely clean and chill, all the machines take quarters or card and none were out of order. They play pleasant french music & have lots of seating. You can sanitize the machine before you start your wash, for free. They also say that detergent is provided for free, but I didn't see that while I was there. It's all good though, I prefer to use my own anyway, so I was glad that I was able to. They also have free WiFi, which I didn't use but did notice that it's available.
One star removed because of a few minor things.
Firstly, I wish they had a machine in between their largest and medium-sized machine. The largest is much too large for my usual load size, but the medium is too small. The jump between the two is pretty huge (the large is 2x the size of the medium) so if there was one right in between it would be perfect.
Secondly, the instructions on the machine say that you swipe your card and then press the knob to start. Well, as soon as I swiped my card the machine started without warning. There's no way to stop it or change the settings once it starts, so I had to scramble to get my detergent measured while the machine was already filling up, and I had all my delicate clothes go through on the wrong cycle. The instructions should be updated to clarify that the card should be swiped last (I usually do it first to make sure there aren't issues with it before I put the detergent in, but now I know the machines work different here). The dryer is normal though, you can pay any time and use the 'Start' button to start or pause and change the temperature if you want. It's not obvious, but I figured out to add more time you can keep swiping your card and it'll charge $0.25 and add ~6 extra minutes each time.
And thirdly, I think the price of the wash is pretty high here compared to other laundromats. It's definitely a more bougie place and they had an attendant on site and have a lot of other perks that not all laundromats have, and I'm sure they have to cover the extra costs somehow. At the laundromat on Oak St & Divisadero, each cycle is something like $2-3 cheaper than here. It's still the closest laundromat to my house, and I can afford an extra $3ish per week for laundry, but just a heads up in case you're looking for a more cost-effective & minimalist type...
Read moreThis laundromat is super dodgy. Will not give you a refund when their machines malfunction. One time it started a hot wash when I had selected a cold wash. I asked the guy to stop the machine, he delayed and said only if you don't request a refund, I said fine because I didn't want the hot water to ruin my clothes. I then requested a refund which is my right and the staff member grunted at me and was very rude and aggressive. Then the manager confronted me saying that I yelled at her staff member. I said excuse me but if it was at the start of a wash, why can you not give me a refund? You haven't used any of the electricity or water so I don't know why I can't be given a refund. She was stunned and couldn't give me an answer. Then proceeded to BAN me from the establishment....! These people are bullies and they are ripping people off left and right. They do not put enough water in their machines and that's to save money on their end. At the end of the day, washing clothes with very little water is not actually washing them, you need the excess water to wash clothes properly...! I stopped using them back in 2017 because the owner Ariana was extremely rude to me - she yelled at me when I opened a dryer to check if my clothes were dry. Now I am reminded why I stopped coming. Do not frequent this laundromat if you don't want to be ripped off, bullied and gaslit. This isn't the first time they haven't returned my money either. I am owed in excess of $30+ because of their dodgy...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of using Laundre's services, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. I opted for their supposedly efficient 24hr service as I needed my clothes for an upcoming work trip. However, what followed was a series of disappointments and appalling customer service.
Upon delivery, only one out of three bags made it to my doorstep. When I contacted Laundre, their immediate response was to blame the driver rather than taking responsibility. Attempts to reach them over the phone were futile – their customer service skills are non-existent.
The manager, in an attempt to salvage the situation, assured me that the remaining bags would be promptly delivered. However, when it came time to follow through on this promise, they conveniently cited "inconvenience" and reneged on their commitment. No compensation was offered for the delay or the botched service.
As a result of Laundre's incompetence, my work trip was jeopardized, and I am left without a significant portion of my wardrobe. This experience has been utterly frustrating, and the lack of accountability from Laundre is unacceptable.
I strongly advise anyone considering their services to steer clear of Laundre. Save yourself the hassle, frustration, and potential wardrobe crisis by choosing a more reliable and customer-oriented...
