Revisiting the History of the Western Yunnan Anti-Japanese War in San Francisco - The Songshan Campaign 🎞️

Detailed and informative two-story museum with free admission. This WW2 museum details China's role with tons of photos, videos, and objects. There are models of the Zhongshan Warship, Hump Route, and a plane. There are are also two photo peep boards. The information is also bilingual, in Chinese and English. Overall, it's a good place to spend some free time and is different from other WW2 museums, which are eurocentric. I was surprised that I was the only visitor despite a massive banner and multiple signs outside.

This is an underrated and inconspicuous museum, but the story they tell is quite interesting and different from all other war museums I had been to. This one is focused on how life used to be for the POW’s under Japanese rule, and how the Chinese helped ease the suffering as much as they could. Definitely an interesting place to visit if you’re in SF!
