Marijane Hamann Park — Attraction in San Jose

Well its a park so please remember that this review is likely to differ from other peoples reviews given we all like different things from a park.

The park is fundamentally a big square field, as such it doesnt have much character and offers more practical facilities as opposed to aesthetic characteristics. Notably there are baseball, soccer and tennis facilities that are free to use along with a nice child's playground. In addition there are a number of picnic tables and BBQ facilities which certianly pull the crowds on public holidays. Close to the freeway and next to the picnic areas is an open rectangular area that could make for an ideal location for small wandering trails, along with additional trees and uneven hill formations that could increase the aesthetic appeal but today its ‘just a flat field’ which is good for residents looking to exercise their dogs. For local aesthetic park appeal - I’d recommend Vasona Lake Park in Los Gatos. For a local field for sports or dog exercise Marijane Hamann Park works.

Unfortunatley however the park is prone to some grafitti, the county tries to keep on top of it and usually responds within 24hrs to any reports.

I grew up playing all kinds of games and sports there. My grandparents lived across the street for 30 years. And I spent a lot of time at their house cuz it was a 10 minute bike ride from my home to theirs. I recently had a chance to revisit the park and all the playground equipment was still there. Showing a patina of age but still in great operating shape. The grounds were manicured and clean. A pleasant surprise in this day and age of destruction, graffiti...

I wish our City could set up Nicer tracks oround the parks and to add more work out equipment..This defetively will lead to impact wellness and communities with Health & trhive
