Well we came late in the evening yesterday and they sold out of most meats . Most people would be mad . But a true lover of bbq knows that's a great thing. When I parked the car and got out you could smell the smoker going ( another good sign of great bbq ) I ran up to the fence like a child at the zoo and stood and took in the sight of the beautiful smoker ! Next we stopped at the outside menu ( another plus ) then made our way inside. We will definitely be back at a much earlier time to give this beautiful bbq place a try.
Ok it's up date time ! After interacting with the staff and eating some bbq I'm coming back with a full review.
Well I'll start with the bad .. the service was subpar ! While having my order taken the young man was asked what kind of beans they had. He had no idea ( you need to know what you're selling ) he went and asked and came back saying they were baked beans . Nope that was wrong . They are anything but baked bean . More of a Chile. But the Chile was ok. Next before he was done taking our order he ran off. Umm ok.. we went and waited outside for our Togo order. It was soon ready but only half of our meal was packed to go. The other half was on the tray for eating there. It took some time for someone to ask what was wrong. And the young lady that came was unfriendly and never once said she was sorry for the mess up . Not cool .
Then while waiting for the second meal to be packed up ( they definitely didn't hurry) one guy cleared a table and brought that food to the food prep area ( not cool )
Finally after seeing 2 other orders messed up the rest of our togo order came and once again no we're sorry for the mess up or wait . Not cool .
Once home there was melted butter all over the top of one of the containers ( not cool )
The chile was good but kind of plan . The Mac and cheese was very weird and definitely not anywhere near normal Mac and cheese. More like flavored noodles. The meat ! Now that was top notch ! My bbq background comes from Texas ( so I'm very picky about my bbq ) not alot of bbq places in CA can do it right. This meat was great !
Hopefully they get their act together with the services. Oh and I'm a little upset for having to give a tip before any of the subpar services was done. Since it was horrible from the start to finish and my food was to go . The 2 stars is for the service. 3 for the sides and 5 for the meat . And come early because it wasn't even 6 and they were close to selling out of some...
Read moreLast Thanksgiving we reserved a Turkey to have for Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived early and were told it wasn't ready. We showed up a couple hours later and we were then told there weren't any left even though we reserved it ahead of time. To compensate, they gave us a generous $200 gift card. We come back to try them with the gift card, but the online service they have doesn't accept the gift card so we paid with credit card. Once that was resolved and we moved it over to the gift card balance, we then had to wait over 40 minutes in person to get the order of food for 4. Maybe it's bad luck, but every time we try to order from here, there's problems or service issues, and it's annoying. The food itself is good. The tri-tip, ribs, and chicken were all tender and juicy -- cooked well. There wasn't a lot of smokey flavor to it, which I didn't mind. The sauce they gave us didn't have a lot of flavor to it aside from being sweet which is personally not my favorite. The garlic bread was pretty disappointing. It's something you could buy from the grocery store and easily do better yourself. A full garden salad almost filled me up and I'm a big eater, so you're at least getting your bang for your buck there. Overall, the pricing is a bit much for what you get, but it's fine. Nothing to really write home about. To sum it up, it's good food, the people there are nice, but the back to back issues and the pricing brings the rating down. Once the gift card is done, we probably won't revisit. Even without the issues, we probably wouldn't come back when there are other places around with better food...
Read moreMy partner was craving BBQ which was fueled by bbq tik tok videos.
She found this place on a whim and was pleasantly surprised that the location was not too far from us.
Conveniently located on a visible busy street, parking wasnt too bad. Theres ample spaces for vehicles and a few online order lanes for those who ordered via mobile pick up.
We ordered online through their website and got the 3 combo plate which allows you to choose 3 meats out of the variety they had which includes the following: -brisket -tri tip bbq pork ribs pulled pork bbq chicken burnt ends
The 3 plate combo also gave you the options to choose 2 sides for your meats: macncheese -beans -potato salad
Last part was breads garlic bread smoked bread corn bread
We were able to pick up the food after 10 - 15 mins wait and was in and out.
When you pick up, you're welcomed with a nostalgic smell of bbq smoke. There was a lovely outdoor area which is set up to look like a picnic bench at a park. This Is perfect for people who come in gatherings as they also serve alcohol as well!
Price was good and affordable. The 3 combo is basically 2 meals for the price of about, ~$30 bucks.
I'd recommend this place as the flavors are good and the little apple cider vinegar concoction that they include with your plate accentuates the flavor of smoke from the bbq. It's a lovely sweet and mildy acidic compliment that cant be missed.
100/10! Definitely...
