South Bay Scout Shop — Attraction in San Jose

If i could give a negative star, I would. He was the rudest, least helpful person I have encountered as far as getting retail customer service. He was not kind nor friendly. He literally pointed me to a section and told me to look for all the (17 items) I need when I asked for help. I was just running an errand for a friend and I knew nothing about scouts nor what I'm looking for. I asked him to look at the list to guide me, and his rude voice from far back behind the register was "what does it say???". There was no other customer in the store at the time. Does this rude middle age tall white man represents the boy scout community with his unhelpful, rude behavior?? I hope not. So...

The lady there (dressed in full uniform herself) was awesome, very nice, and extremely helpful. They have all sorts of uniforms, gear, and materials. We just joined and weren't sure what to ask for from the uniform bank. While it ran us about $200 to outfit our little one, it was a one stop shop with all questions and sizes answered. So, if you're on a budget and confident with what you want/need, try the uniform bank. If you don't mind spending a little to have the piece of mind you're getting the right stuff and sizes, go to the South Bay Scout Shop. Parking lot...

Ian was so helpful! Not only pointed me to where everything I needed was located in the store, but helped me find the right sizes and when we couldn't find the correct size he found one in the back! Convenient fitting room and great conversations about scouting. Laurie is a gem of a human too and so wonderful to get to talk with her!! They made the experience of navigating the new store...
