Worst experience of my life!!! I came to support the grand opening of the store. I usually have top experts help with my beauty needs. Ulta pitched to me that I could have an "all in 1" service. So I decided to give them a chance. In the meantime my usual helpers are obviously unhappy about my consideration of taking all my beauty business to Ulta. Unfortunately this was a huge mistake!!! These people may be "trying" to be professionals, but they are ALL amitures. After having the GM call my personal line after my 1st service threatened me if I didn't come back 1st thing Monday she would file a police report. I'm thinking...a police report for what (writing a post dated check). I reminded her that not only did I apply for an Ulta credit card, schedule appointments with a hair colorist, hair cut, eye brow wax and product purchases for ALL future services, and that I think she is crazy for even suggesting the police at all ESPECIALLY ON THE GRAND OPENING of the store. After the post dated check went through on Monday...I then came into the store a couple weeks later to me scheduled appointments. GUESS WHAT? I drove all the way from San Francisco to be greeted by the GM MONSTER. And I was stood up by all my appointments. The GM had a look on her face that insinuated that her need to feel superior outweighs her professionalism to get a new long-term client going. I'm actually happy it turned out this way because the hair was over lapped on the already bleached portions and I don't have time for flakes or other people's drama. Also my usual team of beauty consultants are happy to have me back...
Read moreThis is my first experience shopping at Ulta Beauty. Bought a pot of Anatasia's gel eyeliner from this store as recommended by the staff there on Tuesday. They were helpful at the point of purchase, but they were not so nice when it came to returning the product. I later got home, did a search online and read reviews about the product. Most reviews said it was not so good, so I decided not to use it and returned the product unopened with a receipt when I next went to town. The staff at the till asked me for my phone number as a matter of fact in order to process the return. Since I do not have an account with this store, I did not see the point of doing so thus opening myself to an avenue of unsolicited sales messages. In respond to my refusal, a more senior staff came to the till and asked me again for my phone number or email address. I refused again and insisted that it is my right to my privacy. At the end, she processed my return and gave me a refund unwillingly and asked me if I have used the product. I responded with a clear no and invited her to examine the product herself. At that point everybody at the till looked at me. I could see in her expression throughout the refund process that she assumed I was a free-rider, but I was not. Your policy explicitly accepts returns. It is not a good strategy to bully your customer to give them their phone number or email address. Please train your staff to respect your customer and your customer's privacy if you want them to be return customers. And if they are happy, they may consider being a member and give you their contact...
Read moreThey messed up my hair! I came in 3 times to have my hair dyed purple and at the end of the experience... walked away with their failed commitments and was treated utterly unprofessionally.
1st appt: I came in, I already had my hair lightened twice elsewhere and wanted a purple added to it. Stylist A added a toner to my hair calling it purple but washed out leaving my hair dark brown. The manager gave me a correction appt. to correct their mistake.
2nd appt: I came in and stylist B lightened and added purple to my hair. Looked awesome till I washed it only once and it all faded to a copper red. Came in to see the same manager which gave me another correction appt.
3rd appt: I came in and they told me they didn't have any purple dye for my hair. Stylist C recommended to blend some different products to do my hair but when I asked if she's confident I will get the end result she wanted she said no. She also said she recommended to the manager to go buy the hair product at a store since they couldnt get any shipments for my appt today in which the manager said no.
I paid over $200 bucks and 10 hours of my time for nothing.
The manager Marissa and general manager Susan Witkowski were horrible with trouble shooting this issue. They were uncouth, unprofessional and incompetent. I asked them "what's your solution to this?" and they basically shrugged their shoulders and said "suck it". How do they stay in business with this kind...
