Part of our roadtrip included staying at the Best Western in Sandpoint, Idaho. It came highly recommended and the walls and ceiling were covered in bugs. Management couldn’t have cared less. Needless to say, no sleep was had that night, but little bug corpses were everywhere the next morning😂😂 Don’t stay there. Ever.

I don't very often provide a 5 star rating for a hotel. Are there nicer hotels with more to offer? Yes! Do others do it better? Yes! So why 5 stars. Being a Diamond member I have stayed in a lot of Best Western properties. I look at value (benefit per dollar) as well as the overall comfort and feel. This hotel does have some minor maintenance issues. My patio needed cleaning after coming through the winter. The bathroom needed a little work and the toilet needs updating as it is old and leaks internally. The floor under the carpet is lumpy and uneven when walking it in socks. So you ask why 5 stars. 5 stars for these reasons: 1. Front clerk was friendly once introductions were made. A nice light and easy conversation ensued. She acknowledged and thanked me for my membership and gave me a choice of a goodie bag or points. I chose the goodie bag which contained 2 Propel waters and granola bars. Better done than other BW properties. 2. I asked for a room upgrade which she apologized for not offering. She put me on the ground floor in a Fireplace suite with 2 rooms, 2 TVs, a fireplace, couch and king bed. The room quality is better than other BW properties for the 113 + tax that I paid. 3. Great views of the lake and mountains with a sliding door and porch that exits to a large lawn and beach. 4. Nice restaurant onsite. No free breakfast which is a bummer but good food is available close by. This is a busy hotel with an active restaurant so some noise is to be expected though I prefer a quiet hotel. As others have noted there are no elevators so walking stairs with some luggage might be needed. Interestingly enough it was noted that the primary reason for people not wanting a second or third story room (despite the views) was because their dogs could not make it up the stairs. This was an unexpected answer. Overall impression: This property despite a few small imperfections and limitations has provided a unique and delightful experience. I would like to return during the summer months and take advantage of the lake.

Room was disgusting, beds and bedding are horrible. Awesome location, pool is good enough. I had pretty low expectations based on other reviews but didn't expect the room to be as nasty as is it was. We stayed here on a Silverwood trip. Room 141 was disgusting. String cheese wrapper, hair and chunks of food in front of the TV. Nasty sticky spot on carpet between the beds perfectly placed so that I stepped on it every time I got up at night. There was also an empty bag of Doritos, a breakfast sandwich wrapper and pieces of cereal in the closet. After the first night I brought up the issue with the front desk. Told her specifically where the problems were and that I was requesting the room to be cleaned. Came back from Silverwood at 11pm that night to find the beds made but the garbage and sticky spot still there. Not wanting to spend any more energy trying to get the staff to do their job we laid a towel over the sticky spot and decided to not let it ruin our vacation. Brought it to the front desks attention again when checking out, she was somewhat apologetic. I'd bet money that trash is still in the room. The room and hotel itself aren't as bad as the other reviews make it seem. Though outdated, if they were clean and replaced the bedding it wouldn't have been an issue. The location can't be beat, the pool is good enough. Plan on getting breakfast elsewhere unless you want lukewarm Jimmy Dean's Breakfast Sandwiches.

My father graciously booked my husband and I a room here the weekend after our wedding. Originally, my father booked us a room at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington (5 Star Hotel). However, the Davenport didn't have a hot tub. My husband and I decided to keep it more low key and go to a place with a hot tub, so we decided on the Edge Water. It was an absolute blizzard outside, so we decided to get our suits on and go to the hot tub that we had been looking forward to all along. The hot tub that we switched our reservation for! When we got to the tub, there is a note posted stating that the hot tub is down for the entire weekend for "service". I was a little upset about this, so I went to the front desk very politely and just explained our situation and how we switched our reservation from the Davenport to the Edge Water for the hot tub specifically. A woman named STACY told me word for word, "There is nothing we can do about it. If you want to leave right now, you can! I will give you your money back now and you can go!" I was absolutely jaw dropped. I was so polite in explaining our situation, and her only solution was for us to leave in the middle of a snow storm. I really wanted to get angry with her but I didn't. I just walked away and went back to our room where I vented to my husband and felt irritated because of her poor attitude and customer service.

Fast forward a week. I told my dad about the experience we had, and he was angry. He called and spoke with Troy, the manager, and he agreed to give us a free night stay to let us enjoy the hot tub that we had been looking forward to. I thought this was the professional thing to do. We were looking forward to trying again. The reservation was made for three months after our wedding.

Fast forward to six weeks before our free night stay from Troy, and my father gets a phone call from STACY. She calls my father and is telling him how his son and daughter are "liars" and that we didn't even have a hot tub in our room. Correct, we didn't have a hot tub in our room and we didn't claim to. Why is this woman looking into our reservation six weeks before our stay? Why is she calling us liars? Why is she allowed to speak to guests this way? Bottom line is Stacy is clearly a miserable human. Troy, the manager, allows her to treat guests this way. It is totally unacceptable behavior/harassment for any establishment. We will...

I do not even know where to start!!! This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was so filthy beyond words filthy. This stay was a disaster. We came with a group for a birthday party, and we all requested rooms together. Did not happen. My husband has a bad leg, and they put us on the third floor and did not advise us there was no elevator. The rest of our party was on the first floor. When we went into the room all the furniture was covered in dust. I had to wipe everything down before I could place my belonging down. The curtains where stained and falling down cobwebs where every were. When I opened the book in the room it was smeared with food and probably still is. My husband went to the front desk to tell them, and he was treated rude and brushed off. The keys for the room did not work and we had to go back to the front desk twice.

Ok day two. Got a manager (Emily) She stated that she would move us to another room and give us a 10% discount. We had to move all are stuff down three flights of stairs. With a physical disability with no help from the staff. The new room was a touch better but not by much. There were ants crowing on the bathroom floor. chips of something white on the floor and it was sticky. It had not been swept or moped in some time is my guess.

Was told when I made the reservation that I would be charged $15.00 for my dog's whole stay. At checkout I was charged an additional 45.00. All the staff was so rude I went up to ask a question and one of the staff that was working the front desk raised her voice at me and I was not being rude at all. This was a waste of money, and a gross stay came home with bug bites on my legs and arms. NEVER EVER STAY HERE!!! I was told the owner are going to tear the building down and build a new hotel and they will not put any money into it. With that being said I would not stay at the new hotel due to how misleading it all was!!! Would not have even left a one star but I had to so I...
