As I sat myself down in the coaster my body sank into what I can only pray was a wet seat soaked from a good cleaning. Adjusting myself in the moist seat the coaster rose above the park 200 feet overlooking a beautiful parking lot. Then tradgedy struck. The coaster dropped at 72 miles per hour into one of many hills that surely would have pummeled my baby making equipment had I not been blessed a woman. The condomn brand coasted bolted about 20 mph faster than one would deem acceptable if you dont want to end up at the chiropractor, nearly taking my head off as we took the first dive. Then... The bunny hops appeared. Four in a row. As we coasted over the first hop it became an immediate struggle between gravity pulling my body down and inertia trying to extract my everything from the underneath the lap bar. By the second hop i had to decide; allow my body to be torn in two or sink myself into the aqueous seat beneath me? I made my choice, my everything imaginable tried to pin itself to the saturated spondge beneath my bottom. Knuckles white from the sheer force of my grip i ride the last two hills praying that we would all make it back alive. My cousin, max, could be heard next to me crying out as his gonads were ripped, grinded, pulverized and blasted from his body to become one with the coaster. Then... It was over. We slowed into the station, stopped and left this nightmare behind us. My brain told me to tell everyone in line to turn back but for some it was too later because the coaster could be heard in the distance taking its next load up the hill. My cousin and i walkes away, him without his family jewels which were left on the third bunny hop and me leaving behind L1 and L2 back on the first drop. Never again will we...
Read moreThere's no denying that Magnum XL 200 is an absolute Cedar Point classic, but it's definitely overrated. I got one of the last rides of the night on Magnum, in the middle of the train. Here's what I thought. The first little drop before the Lift Hill is horrible. It comes out of nowhere and is super painful. Then comes the Lift Hill. It gives very good views of the park, and looks beautiful at night, but it's pretty slow. Then, the first segment is pretty underwhelming but still fun. Then, the turnaround is very awkward. It banks left a bit before the actual turn, which feels really weird. Then comes the triangle shaped airtime hills. It was the most painful coaster element I've ever done. They give you tons of airtime, but your thighs will be sore beyond imagination after the ride. There are also tunnels along the track, which is arguably the scariest part of the ride. Not to mention, the whole ride is extremely rough and painful. I really don't understand all the people who argue that it's the best ride in the park or in the world. But it's definitely worth checking out due to it being the first hypercoaster in the world. But, just beware that it is very rough, has sudden jolts, and is...
Read moreMagnum XL-200 was.... interesting to say the least. I'd have to say it was the weakest hyper coaster I've ever ridden, but does that make it bad? Well what are the good things about it? It's pretty tall, fast, long, and full of airtime. However those things can be a downfall of the ride as well. Because the ride is fairly old and it was hand-welded together, the transitions can be rather odd and sharp. So they can be somewhat painful. It wasn't unbearable but certainly noticeable. The trains don't help too. The seats are hard and so are the restraints. So when it jostles you around, it can be uncomfortable. The only truly great thing to come out of this coaster is the drop. It was fairly smooth and just fun. The first few hills had some airtime, the turn around was rough, and the final hills were airtime packed. They just ejected you out of your seat over and over again. However it's rough so the airtime can be painful. So is it bad? Not really, it's just average. Not good, not bad, just average. I'd say Arrow Dynamics have made better coasters in their time. If you happen to drop by it,...
