Fantastic coaster. 93 mph, almost smooth as silk! Can't wait to ride again as soon as I get off! Wonderful airtime, on 3+ hills. The speed and g forces are extreme and exhilarating. It is truly a force, and the most that normal folks like me will probably ever experience. It is intense, to say the least.
Pro tip: 1st timer? Wait for the front of the line, and ride the outside seat. ACE? Back left.
I would give this ride the honor of being in my top 5, but there are some issues...
1st off, the loading is an issue. The offloading, no problems. With the unique (to me) double platform, one would think this ride would be dispatched faster. It is not. It is frustratingly slow. It is the slowest dispatch in the park. It's not the ops fault, btw. It's the seat belts. They are tight and hard to get on. They are hard for the ops to see and check. If you are even in the lighter to mid 200s depending on how and where your weight is, (hips and butts don't like this ride!) you won't fit. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, people, save yourself from the walk of shame! Check the seats at the entrance 1st. And trust them. If YOU can't make yourself fit before the ride, THEY can't make you fit ON the ride! And will only push and shove so much. They technically aren't supposed to touch you. They will give a good try, then politely tell you you can not ride and point you to the exit. Not only does this slow EVERYONE else down, but it is not a pleasant experience!
♿️ info below.
The disability access is poor at best. The ride was designed before disabled people were considered. Triggers are everywhere. The wait for the disability line can be non-existent to 20-30 mins when it is extremely busy. The line merges with the main line if you are ambulatory. It is another 10+ minutes from this point, depending on the line you choose. Autistic guests, as well as non-ambulatory (and some others), will load on the exit platform.
💡 The ride camera flashes are right in the middle of the 2nd tunnel. Close your eyes right as you enter. Depending on the time of the day, when the ride leaves the platform, you will get blasted right in the face from the sun. At night, red platform lights that are directly above the ride can be very bright.
🔊 The exit platform speakers are very loud and startling. The ride has a repetitive sound that plays with a low cadence that is intended to increase anticipation anxiety. It is not loud.
↗️ Wheelchair access is via ramp only. It is 130' long and rises 8' feet. It is the minimum width required. If you have to use hand power, be prepared to scrape your knuckles!
Enjoy your ride on...
Read moreWhen I went to Cedar Point, I was personally not expecting much from this coaster. I know it was voted the best steel roller coaster in the world, but many people kept saying it was overrated. However when the ride ended, I couldn't believe what I experienced. Millennium Force is now my new favorite roller coaster. That first drop is so tall and so steep. It's amazing. Yes it's true, you can see Canada from the top of the lift hill on a clear day. The view is amazing, but once you plummet down that first drop it gets insane. During that first overbook turn, I grayed out. I couldn't see a thing. It cleared up once we got out of it. The airtime on this coaster is also excellent. You really float out of your seat as you get yanked down the hills. The last small ejector airtime hill really makes you pop out of your seat. The ride is also pretty smooth. Not the smoothest ride ever but what it delivers is good. The trains help with the smoothness because (in my opinion) they are very comfortable. You feel very open and exposed which increases the terrifying factor. You would expect a Giga coaster to be super intense but surprisingly it really isn't. It is just super fun. I was smiling and cheering the whole way through. The other banked turns are so cool as well. You get some good head chopper moments. It's awesome that a ride with such a simple layout can be executed so well. I love this coaster so much and I would totally come back to Cedar Point just to...
Read moreId have to say the coaster is FUN when I got to ride it opening year in 2000. I have been to the park SEVERAL times since then but I dont even bother wasting my time waiting in line anymore because all it does is break down or get stuck on the first hill. This has happened to me several times while waitiìng in line & its SO FRUSTRATING & UPSETTING!! The ride itself is AWESOME! :) Last year (2015) My husband & I decided to ride The Millennium Force. The wait time was 2 hrs, But he had NEVER ridden so I said ITS A MUST! We waited & waited! Hot, thristy & the anticipation was rising minute by minute. Then Finally it was all about to become reality. We were next! Then it happened! The ride before us got stuck right in the middle while climbing the first hill! The workers came across the speakers & said they were very sorry but it was going to be SEVERAL HOURS! I was SO PISSED, UPSET, & just Absolutely STUNNED that when it was almost our ride, it just had to break down. Anyways, to make this long story short, we were so upset that we had left the park. On several other occasions after returning to the park, we seen the ride not running as well so we just dont even try anymore so unfortunately my husband will probably never get to experience this thrill ride which...
