I actually sort of had high hopes for this ride. It was presented very well, having it being situated over water and such. Also I liked Hydra (yes I know they are completely different but they are both flourless) so I thought I'd like Rougarou. After the ride ended, I was very disappointed. The first half of the ride was awesome! It was very fast, forceful, and fun. The vertical, dive, and incline loop were all very cool. Even the turn around before the drop was intense. However once we hit the mid-course break run, everything changed. I was having so much fun and then once we went into the corkscrew, my head bashed from side to side like a pinball in a pinball machine. There is a technique I could have used, unofficially called the E.T. technique, where you stick your head forward and that eliminates headbanging. I used this on Raptor and it managed to work. So I'm pretty sure if I were to re-ride this and use this technique, my experience would have been a lot better. However I didn't, so the rest of the ride didn't go too well either. The transitions were very tight, which resulted in more jostling. So alas the ride came to an end, and my ears were burning so badly. I got off with a headache and did not plan to go back on. If you plan to ride this, do so but keep your...
Read moreRougarou does not deserve all the hate it gets. It's definitely not the best roller coaster in the park, but nowhere near the worst. This B&M floorless coaster started its life as Mantis, a B&M standup before being converted into a floorless coaster. It starts with dropping you into a super impressive vertical loop before sending you into some more inversions. The layout is definitely a bit awkward for a floorless coaster, with an inclined loop and other elements you dont typically see on a B&M floorless. Also, the second half is a bit uncomfortable, and you bang your head around a bit. It's still a fun ride that almost never gets a wait over 30 minutes. Even if it's not the best, do it for the credit or...
Read moreSome people say that when you go to Cedar Point you can't ride all the rides just once. But that's a lie! This one you can only ride once. Rougarou (or recycled-rou) was a horrible experience. It was fine for the first half but when it got to all the jolts and twists it was uncomfortable. I hit my head at least a dozen times and the ride is bumpy. The orange paint on the track makes it look cool, but when you are up on the platform you realize it's nothing special. I've never been on the Mantis but now that I've rode on the track, I realize that i didn't miss a lot. I will still be back to Cedar Point in the near future but never again...
