Appliance Man — Attraction in Sandy

Scheduled a diagnostic appointment, a repair man was supposed to show up between 12-4, they never showed up. Called the repair man 2 times around 3pm he didn't answer. Called the store 2 times after 3:30 they told me we were still on the schedule & he is running late. 4 pm: no one shows up so I call the store again, they said that the repair man had already fixed our washer & we were charged. Turns out he fixed someone else's washer at the wrong house without confirming the address or appointment, I told them I will just go to another repair store unless they give us a discount on the diagnostic test, the person said they can do that & will write a note for the next repair man. So I rescheduled for the next week. Nexr week: repair man was a few hours late & in the end said that it would cost the same price to repair the washer as to buy a used one from them for $250. Was quoted $79 for the diagnostic appointment, & they charged $89, when I brought up the discount, he said they give discounts those for diagnostic appointments & recommended I call the store. So I paid & he left. I called the store & spoke to the person in charge, they said that all they can do is give me $39 back if we buy the washer from them & have it delivered to our house by them, they also said they only have one used washer for sale, & won't have anymore for the foreseeable future. It's hard to trust them after that experience.

I went to ASU appliances & they charge half the price for a diagnostic appointment & gave me a nice discount on the washer we bought there since they were taking ours back. Delivery was also cheaper with them. I'm sorry to have to leave this review but its the experience I had with...

Excellent Service!

I know enough about dishwashers to put the dishes in. And that’s it as far as the mechanics of the thing goes.

When the dishwasher soap started to cake up in the soap dispenser, I inspected the contraption a little closer. The soap dispenser was busted and I needed a new one.

The problem was that the dishwasher was about 20 years old and I wasn’t sure I could find the parts. I wanted to do a do-it-yourself job to save money on having a repairman come and do it.

So I Googled “dishwasher parts in Salt Lake City” and found “Appliance Man.” I gave them a call and yes they could help.

I unscrewed the dishwasher door and took it with me -- just to make sure they had the right part. Walking into the store with a dishwasher door must have looked funny.

At the counter was John Rushton. John, I learned as time went on, was a guy who knows everything about appliances.

The part I needed led to be what turned out to be a research project of sorts.

He used his computer to check for parts all over the country as I drove back and forth a few times to get model numbers, part numbers, etc.

John was extremely helpful and exceptionally knowledgeable. His expertise was exactly what I needed to solve my precarious problem.

Another great job by the appliance man! Ben was awesome, prompt and quick repairing my oven today, gonna celebrate with homemade pizza!!

A few months back my dryer motor went out, another company told me there was no replacement for it. I called this other company because the appliance man was 1 week out on service calls, fair enough. I didn’t trust the answer, went to the appliance man store, explained the issue, they ordered me a new motor and showed me how to install it. They were backed up on service calls but took the time in store to still provide a great service!!

I have had great experiences with the appliance man! Several years ago when another repair company was working with Rocky Mtn power on a issue with my stove caused by a faulty power line to my home, that repair guy seemed dishonest and shady. I went to the appliance man for a second opinion and received honest and great service. (that other guy even contacted the Appliance Man and asked them to lie to me). This morning I needed a pump for my washing machine, they did not have it but referred me right away to another trusted company that would have it for me. This is why I will always go to the Appliance Man, they put my needs...
