This place is awesome!! We stopped by today and "technically" this place is still closed officially to the public due to covid, however the lady in charge of the museum was there and let us in. She says that they have been wanting to open back up for a while now but due to covid numbers spiking and the elderly age of the individuals who work there they haven't yet. There goal to open is this January, however that could easily change. If you are in the area, stop by on the designated hours of operations listed if you have a small group and the museum director will probably show you around if you catch her there. The actual museum is fantastic and has a ton of neat history there, not just of sandy, but all over. Highly recommend!

This museum was constructed in 2007 and sits directly on the Oregon Trail. Roughly 50,000 pioneers passed right by this site. In addition to housing and displaying artifacts from Sandy’s history, it serves other civic functions as well. The museum is the realization of the work, commitment and generosity of the members of the Sandy Historical Society. Every year since 1926 the Sandy Historical Society, originally the Sandy Pioneer Association, has been holding regularly scheduled meetings, collecting artifacts and historical information. Many artifacts have been collected and there is a considerable display of the area’s history at the museum. Since 1973 the society has published three books on the history of the Sandy Area. These books are for sale at their Gift...

This is a fun historic record of Sandy Utah. I love the fact that they have preserved the history of the downtown area of Historic Sandy. There are so many things to see that take you back in time. The conversion of the building over the years to serve the community are very interesting. I was welcomed and given a tour by Becky who really enjoys being there. She invited me to a antique car show there this past Saturday August 12th. I brought the family and we had a great time talking to some of the owners. The also cooked us up some Polish sausage. It was a memorable time. Thanks Becky! I would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re...
